wherein you were haunted by your own selfish desires a little too early when July's are supposed to be spent in summer love, while August is when you realize that love is fleeting and the love you had wasn't like seasons that change, it was unmoving like stagnant waters, but you were both drowning in the waves of comfort misery

but God—does it feel like I already have lost you

because I couldnt remember a time where you smiled at me like I was your whole world. unlike mine, cause you were and they never once mirrored the other. yours were dull and unforgiving like I was something that you were bound to forget. like I was not meant to be anything to you at all.
