I just got another DM that started with:

"I accidentally reported your account instead of someone else's..."

This is a common scam that's been going around on a bunch of platforms. They'll usually try to convince you to contact a fake moderator or support account, click a link, or give away your login information.

If you get a message like this: • Don't panic. • Don't click any links. • Don't message anyone they tell you to. • Don't share passwords or verification codes. • Report and block the account if it seems suspicious.

If there's ever a real issue with your account, the platform will contact you through its official channels—not through a random user's DMs.

Someone DMed me saying they had "accidentally reported my account" while trying to report someone else.

The thing is... reporting someone's account isn't something that just happens by itself. You have to intentionally be on their profile and go through the reporting process, so that explanation didn't really make sense to me. It immediately reminded me of a scam that's been going around.

If someone messages you claiming they accidentally reported your account and starts telling you to contact a "moderator" or "support" account, please be careful. That's a common scam used to trick people into giving away their account information.

If there's ever a real issue with your account, the platform will contact you through its official channels—not through a random person's DMs.

I just wanted to put this out there in case someone else gets a message like this.
