We know Surebrec in reverse is Cerberus—three-headed dog that guards the gates of the underworld in Greek mythology, and by now we're already familiar with the motifs.

Canis Surebrec was an Undertaker on the Ground, who also likely served as the guard of the Gods or the Sphere in the past, and either then or thereafter (most likely after the war) he ensures no one crosses to and from the Ground and the Sphere—just like Cerberus guards the gates of the Underworld, preventing the dead from leaving and the living from entering. (And this leads me to believe that Canis was known by the people as the "Watchman"; kiiiiiinda doubt the Gods would have given him that title but idk)

Still unconfirmed but Canis absolutely had the ability to travel freely between the Ground and the Sphere without dying—likely this was the power he received from the Gods

"Canis" is Latin for the family of dog or hound. Not sure yet about Alto, but Rudo has already exhibited plenty of his feral canine traits 😆

Rudo's gloves was named 3R, he can power 3 objects a day—all reflecting the three-headed dog.

Now Macaca Icol. Icol is probably the reverse of Genius Loci—a Latin phrase meaning the "spirit of a place." It originally referred to a protective guardian deity that helped watch over homes, groves or a city, and people make offerings to it.

When I researched, I found that the term's usage in modern architecture and art has evolved; it now signifies the unique atmosphere, character or "soul" of a place. It's about understanding not just the physical features of the place but also what makes it feel the way it does, and designing or interacting with it in a way that respects and enhances that essence — so, so reminiscent of whatever that's in Canvas Town 🎨🫟🖌️

Saw a passage that struck out to me where it says: "respect the genius loci" means you gotta pay attention to the authentic spirit of the place—history, culture, and not to design or act in a way that feels out of tune with it

Another thing, "Macaca" is latin for the genus of macaques or Old World monkeys. The word is derived from Portuguese macaca which is feminine of macaco (monkey). Been manifesting for the longest time that Macaca Icol would turn out to be a lady or androgynous at least 🙏🏻
