You know how deeply hurt I had to be to cry when I hadn’t cried since my dad passed away.

You know how I deeply hurt I had to be to let everything out to my sister.

To spend the family day holding onto my nephew and having him asked “what has your boyfriend done to you?”.

I was not only badly hurt but feeling like an older version you never got to meet. One who was scared and unsecured. And I felt her coming to alive. I cannot be her. After years of fighting my own demons, I will not let her return. For more than it hurts having to let you go, losing myself would hurt a lot more.

I would become a numb version of the girl you once met.
