Ohhhh, that all makes sense now. I know people from McKinley. I’m Ivy, by the way. I don’t understand why anyone would sign up for something just to waste their own and everyone else’s time. That should hopefully do it. I never had to be berated for laziness, but my dance coaches definitely used things along those lines on some of the others.

I’m really close with a lot of people from the glee club considering I invited most of them to my wedding but… there were definitely some interesting times. That sounds really sad, actually. I… really want to disagree with you but I can’t.

Oh, right, married. It wasn’t shotgun, was it? If the perks didn’t outweigh the cost, I’d never ingest one of Sue’s Shakes ever again. I don’t think the squad will, either.

Geez, where do you go to school? That’s a shame. I know all too well about unmotivated people keeping spots from those who care. I’ve found you can normally appeal to the seniors to be motivated by reminding them it’s their last year or whatever. Some people are actually sentimental about that.

McKinley, I’m a Cheerio. Quinn Fabray worked harder than half the current squad while she was pregnant. It’s embarrassing. Or remind them how pathetic and humiliating it would be if we lost at nationals and they won’t have the chance to redeem themselves.

Hey, thanks! I tried to not be terrible. I would totally accept protein shakes. They make me think I’m drinking something unhealthy. As long as you don’t mean literal guns!

Which is more than I can say for most of your group. You haven’t had these protein shakes. They taste like dirt and bark -- which they probably are. Coach Sylvester is a lot scarier.

Well, I suppose that’s fair. I have fairly high standards so I’m pretty picky about the people I’m willing to cooperate with. Lifting yourself could be difficult. I don’t suppose good old fashioned threats will work?

Getting onto the squad is harder than making it into the Olympics, but you wouldn’t know that by how lazy everyone gets the second the sun is out. I’m actually thinking they might. But not from me.

I have a lot of respect for you guys. My eating habits are… not deadly, at best. I see the problem then. I won’t get out of bed for anything less than an actual brownie.

Coming from one of the only decent former glee girls, that’s almost flattering. Nobody’s going to come bust their asses for hours with me if all I have to offer is kale chips and protein shakes. I think I have to pull out the big guns.

Would it be counterproductive to suggest bribing with food? Actually that might work. Tempt them with baked goods, then they have to practice to burn off the calories.

We’re all supposed to be on a strict diet, but I’ve seen every Cheerio post a vacation photo on Instagram of them eating crap. If I show up with brownies, I have to fill them with laxatives.

I don’t suppose just making yourself look good and everyone look lazy is an option? I’m not much of a team player, so that might not be a good suggestion.

Coach Sylvester pushes everyone to their limit and she expects me to do the same. If I’m not “motivational” enough, she’ll replace me in a second. If I could be a one-woman cheer team, trust me, I would be.

There’s a month left of summer vacation and we still don’t have a new routine that’s sharp enough to show Coach Sylvester. I’m not letting my reputation as captain go to shit because nobody is willing to pull themselves away from the beach. If I have to resort to bribing people to show up to practice, what do you suggest?
