Ok so breekoppy they sleep in the same bed: Branch is in the middle, going through his bisexual panic and unable to fall asleep. He looks to his left—Creek has his arms crossed over his chest like he’s been laid to rest, and somehow he’s even smiling. He looks to his right and sees Poppy’s butt, because five minutes after falling asleep, she starts churning the bedding like an earthworm.

After Poppy’s 99th roll beside him, Creek still hasn’t moved a muscle. Branch stares at him, confused, and tries to pry one of his arms open, but the thing snaps right back.

“What the hair...?!” Branch jolts up. Poppy’s head, which had been resting on his chest, now slides down onto his stomach. “Have you been awake this whole time??”

In these two scenes, even though Creek first showed negative emotions like disappointment and fear, he quickly adjusted his mindset to comfort his companions who were feeling the same way.

Although in the movie these comforts turned out to be blind optimism in hindsight, this approach has indeed built his reputation over the past twenty years.

Considering that trolls could still sing and dance without losing their color when they were held captive back then, blind optimism is almost the underlying color of this race, and living a beautiful life no matter what is a kind of faith. Perhaps the spiritual trolls serve as iconic figures who uphold this faith

Imagine Creek is a troll who’s obsessed with his terrible puns. Back when he was still popular, those puns came across as brilliantly witty to his admirers, but now they’re just a bit cringe

He gradually realized this and held back from telling them, but it left him feeling glum; until one day someone told him those puns were kind of funny, and he got carried away all over again annoying yet cute

I LOVE the Tall Tail episode. Creek always seem so hypocritical to Branch/the audience even though he rarely lies it's really really fun

There is a type of person who is overly polite, avoids conflict, lacks a stance, and always says things that are technically correct yet hollow. It's really hard to define them. This trait probably makes people who values stability find it unbearable

And this dialogue:

Branch thinks the dislike between them is mutual clearly; but what was going on in Creek's mind....?

Honestly would be hilarious if this entire time Creek thought his teasing of Branch was from a friends type of teasing, unaware Branch was taking it as hostile and rude. "You bullied me constantly" "I was flirting???" Type vibe. Their love language is rage baiting.

Honestly sometime I wonder if Creek was even intending to be teasing or if everything he says (to both branch And poppy in the movie) was 100% literal and serious, and he just has The Kind Of Tone. Like, he''s just the guy who always sounds slightly snarky when he's not trying to be. Got that Autism deadpan like me. ((IE "You get to die with a clean conscious" was just him sincerely trying to comfort her by taking the blame for all of this off her and onto himself.))

For all its flaws, TBGO truely is great sometime XD It gave us so many hilarious moments (I have the Breek song full version on my shuffle. Also, Archer Pastry is wonderful and even in stuff I write where TBGO isn't canon, Archer is.)

In the first movie, the Bergens have a deeply ingrained belief that eating Trolls is the only way to be happy. Then what if the Trolls themselves originally held a belief that the only way to live is to be happy, even if you might die the next second?

Then one day, everyone is convinced and starts planning a great escape. Perhaps it's because Peppy can't bear to watch his youngest daughter die

Have you seen the headcanon that Creek's hair doesnt work like other trolls does? (*TBGO breaks it but, its also loose canon to start with)

Based on how we dont see Creek in the movie use his hair, even when Poppy reaches out with hers, he holds back with his hands. Plus using bugs to get around, and in one of the books we see Creeks pod and it has a ladder instead of being entirely free floating like the rest.

I've seen it! And I really like this headcanon! It's actually quite obvious that he rarely uses his hair... and the way his hair tips hang differently from others also makes you wonder if there's a functional reason behind it

Although the role of hair gets downplayed in the later movies, in the first movie he's the only one among the more prominent characters who did not demonstrate control over his hair (p.s. the Chinese translation for Trolls basically is "Magic Hair Elves", which gives me the impression that their hair should always stand out)

Of course, it could also be that he's vain and doesn't want to ruin his hairstyle, etc. but in a way, hair is even more important to trolls than limbs—giving it up just for looks seems a bit unrealistic

From the movie scenes, we can see that most of their pods are directly suspended in the air, so there must be a reason for choosing to build stairs for a pod. I also like the idea that he keeps his bug not just to show that he's "above it all" but also because he needs his little friend to help him reach high places

Personally, I lean toward the idea that his hair is more fragile and not suitable for dragging, lifting, carrying objects, etc. It can still be used, but he avoids using it as much as possible to prevent unnecessary damage

(I also like the headcanon that he's a vegetarian. But eating only vegetables doesn't do much for his hair's nutrition. When he starts eating meat for some reason for a period of time, he finds his hair getting a bit healthier, lol)
