Brendan needed the coffee this morning, he wasn’t sure what Emma’s plan was. Just that she was meeting with Arthur sometime soon. Sighing a little bit, as he ordered his coffee, that was when he seen Brenda. After he got his coffee, he moved over to her and sat down. “Hey.” 

Brenda worked up a smile. “Hey.” She was quite tired but she still had a lot to get through so she was filling up on coffee. “What’re you up to?”

Last thing Scott expect to see was Brenda here. Of course he knew that she was a Matthews, but he thought she lived in London. But clearly she was in town or something. Sighing a little bit, he moved over to her. “Hey.” He said this after he cleared his throat. Their relationship had been brief and long distance but now she was here. What the hell did that mean? Fuck. He was in trouble if his wife found out.

“If you have anything overly important or business related to say, I would suggest that you walk away and come back in about five minutes.” Arthur spoke softly without actually opening his eyes as he brought the tea to his lips and took a sip. He certainly was no where near awake enough to start work yet, but he had wanted breakfast that wasn’t at home.

“And here I was hoping for a warmer welcome.” She chuckled, moving to pull out the empty chair opposite him and just inviting herself to sit down at her cousin’s table. “Not in the mood today, huh?”

At least Josie isn’t hanging around, Brenda thought to herself as she looked up and spotted her brother at the back of the cafe. She wasn’t sure whether he’d want to talk or not but she figured she was in town anyway so why hide. “You can sit here if you want.”

Cousin to Arthur Matthews, and sister to Brendan Matthews. Brenda was always seen as the baby growing up since she had her older brother and cousin. The three of them were different from one another, but she still looked up to Brendan. Money was something that Brenda never had an issue with or work for actually. But she never let it get to her head either although she could be stuck up at times. That changed quickly when she met Lydia Baker and Josie Williamson even if she wasn’t fond of the blonde. They all became quick friends and she was actually the one to introduce Brendan to Lydia.  

Brenda got really good grades, and was always interesting in babies and how they were born. Becoming an OBGYN seemed to be her calling in life. When she was younger around the same time as Lydia Baker, she got pregnant by the guy she was dating. He was a no one, and a regular guy who didn’t have money. And her parents didn’t approve of him at all. She was promised to some Stanley Windsor, who was also family friends, had money and had been in Baberton all of their lives. But they allowed her to have the baby, they explained things to the Windsor’s and Stanley still chose to marry her when he was able to do so. Raising his son, Travis like his own, which was one of the many reasons why Brenda fell in love with him.

They both ended up going to college and becoming doctors. Brenda becoming a OBGYN and her husband focused on the brain. She became one of the best OBGYN around and ended up retiring at the age of forty. This way she could take over the family company, Matthews International and Matthews Tech but she also makes sure to keep her medical licenses and only takes on special cases. All while raising three children, two she had with Stanley and her son. Travis became an IT tech, while her two girls are still in college.

Coming back to Baberton had never been a plan (not unless she was visiting) but she got a phone call from Sebastian Davenport, turns out Brendan’s girlfriend and one of her old friend, Josie Williamson’s daughter needed her and Stanley to come and monitor the young woman. Of course, Brenda agreed this might be the chance that she needs to make amends with her brother and reconnect with some old friends.

Brenda and Stanley have an open marriage, but they do research into the others to make sure they aren’t have diseases or anything like that. And they make them sign a contact and non-disclosure before anything happens. She loves her husband and loves their life together. But she just feels like there is something missing and she was the one who suggested this to Stanley.

She had a falling out with Brendan after he told her that Lydia was pregnant and he told her that he didn’t want the baby because he felt like he wasn’t going to be a good dad at that time. Of course whenever she sees him, she’s friendly towards him because he is her brother. And she does want to make up with him but she wasn’t know how and maybe to much time has passed.

Brenda is still in love with ex-boyfriend. Travis’s father. Sometimes she checks in on him to see what he has done with his life. Turns out that he owns the music store in town, she’s actually really proud of him and glad that he is doing well for himself.

Lied to her ex-boyfriend about who Travis’s father is, she told him it was Stanley and that she had been cheating on him.
