Even though it was still early, Fleur was exhausted. While she was great ful for all she had learned working for Gringots and having met Bill and Esme, dealing with the goblins was so difficult sometimes, or most of the time really.

Fortunately, once she left the bank she easily found CJ and the Weasleys. She smiled giving CJ a quick peck. “For the day, anyway. I can’t share much, but I’m going to be working a lot, all of us really.” She nodded at Esme and Bill who chuckled at her pout.

CJ gave a smile even as their best mates started to wolf whistle and tease them at the kiss that Fleur gave them.  They also noticed Mrs. Weasley giving Fleur a rather protective parent look.  Leaning over and whispering with a teasing tone, “Careful Fleur, Mama Weasley might give you the shovel talk.”

They offered their arm to Fleur before commenting, “So I have to go to Olivander’s to get a new wand.  I kind of don’t really want to use the one that I earned the allegiance of and my own wand was lost at the Manor.”  CJ glanced at her, “Want to join me?”

Shamelessly admiring the brunette, she smiled before processing what they said. “Hmm, I have to go to Gringots and report. Magically bound by contract until the end of the year, you know.” She raised from the water and reached for her clothes, getting her wand and drying herself before starting to get dressed. “But I can join you once I’m done if Bill’s mother doesn’t mind.”

CJ gave a small smirk feeling the looks they were getting from Fleur.  They hummed, “Yeah I know.”  They gave a absentminded wave of their hand summoning the plug of the tub to drain the water while answering, “I don’t think Mrs. Weasley would mind and I’m sure Esme would love to have you there.  I think she sometimes gets overwhelmed by all us Brits.”

At Diagon Alley, CJ was standing with Harry and Ron outside Madam Malkin’s Robe shop knowing that their next stop was going to have to be Olivander’s since they lost their wand at Malfoy Manor and they really didn’t really want to continue using LeStrange’s wand.  Besides CJ had noticed that while their first wand had worked alright after the change.  It had been the wand that they had gotten as Hermione as such there was a good chance that they had changed a bit from that eleven year old.

Glancing over noticing the French Witch walking towards the group, “Hey done at Gringotts?”

“We certainly don’t back down.” She giggled. Both of them were proud and stubborn, though she’d like to think that only in a good way.

“But it’s also because we trust each other. I doubt either of us would have ended up like this otherwise.” It was also good to see them a bit happier than the last few days, years really.

“Well I am from the house of the brave.  Gryffindors ever back down.”  They joked even though there was truth in their statement.  CJ hummed and nodded, “There is that too.”

Finishing in the tub, they grinned, “It’s a good thing that my clothes had been brought up.”  Getting out and drying off, CJ found their clean clothes and started to dress so that they could head down to get a meal in the Great Hall.  With a quick glance at Fleur, they asked, “Are you coming with the Weasleys and all of us to Diagon Alley for start of the year shopping?”

“Probably, though considering we are naked in a tub, I figured something should be said even if the long conversation is left for another time.” And while they were not ready for sex, she was just fine with this kind of intimacy… Being able to admire their assets was a bonus as well.

They gave a grin, “Fair point.”  CJ eyed her playfully before adding, “However that’s because neither of us are the type to back down from a challenge.”  They shrugged knowing that them being in the tub together was practically their fault since they threw the dare in front of the French Witch.

“Heat might just be the right word.” She nodded, a little embarrassed. “So hot that things might get burnt… literally.” And honestly the last thing she wanted was to have to stop because she set the bed or CJ on fire. 

Or suddenly sprouted wings…though that one at least wasn’t likely. 

She hoped.

They gave her a small grin, “Fair enough.”  CJ chuckled as they leaned back against the bath’s wall.  The two of them were talking about stuff that honestly they weren’t even ready for but at least they were being open about it.

“I think we’ll just have to have this conversation more in depth when we’re closer to doing well that.”

“In a way yes.” She took the washcloth from them and moved closer to clean their back, stopping only for a moment to appreciate the view.

“Veelas are temperamental.” She continued. “And sometimes I become very angry, but since I’m only a quarter veela it’s easier for me to control myself when angry than it is to my mother who is half-veela. It’s not just anger, intense emotions are a little hard to handle at times and sex, sexual energy tends to enhance those emotions… along with some other more dangerous veela traits…”

“Such as?”  Cj asked glancing at her over their shoulder as they heard her explain the effect of more passionate emotions to a person with Veela blood.  Humming softly, “So are you worried about what could happen if things got heated too soon before either of us were ready?”

“I will, I promise.” Fleur breathed a sigh of relief. Good to know that CJ could remain calm while she stumbled over her words in embarrassment.

“So is… In my case is more a matter of control.” She looked up for a moment telling herself to just get to the point.

“Veela traits persist for a few generations of mating with humans, but they diminish each generation… you know how I always complain about not being able to produce fireballs?”

CJ blinked a few times as they ran the washcloth over their arm, “I remember.  Are you saying some traits affect certain things like control?”  They looked at her holding the cloth up and quietly asked, “Could you get my back?”

They moved a little farther into the tub to turn their back to Fleur before nodding, “Go on.”  Wanting to hear more of what was bothering her.

The blonde witch smirked for a moment before nodding. “Agreed. It’s something that I wanted to talk about, not just because of me but because of you.”

“Before we were not a couple, so this never came up…” she bit her lip, hesitating for a moment. “And I also wanted to know what works for you and what doesn’t. I know you use they pronouns but what about your… body? What’s okay? How are certain things called… Oh this is a little embarrassing. I know, I tease and flirt but I’m not very experienced and talking like this is…” She trailed off, red faced and a little annoyed at herself.

CJ tilt their head at her stumbling over what the two of them needed to talk about.  They gave a small grin, “Okay so here’s the thing.  I don’t really have body dysmorphia.  I will admit it took a while to get used to the normal body reactions but after a while I got used to it.”  Reaching over and grabbing a washrag and soaping it up as they continued, “I think most things would be okay.  As long as communications stay open, I’ll let you know if something’s a no and I hope you will do the same.”

Their eyes were serious as they looked Fleur in the eye making sure that she knew that they were serious about making the two of them comfortable.

“Yes well, we don’t do normal.” The blonde smirked. “That would be boring, I like keeping things interesting and veelas are very sexual creatures, you know?” She winked at them allowing her body to press closely against theirs.

“It’s just that I’m only a quarter veela and the mostly human woman would like to talk about it before we go there as sex with someone of veela blood needs ah… well let’s just say we need to talk first.”

“Isn’t that the truth.”  They teased back.  CJ felt a groan escape their throat at the feeling of her pressing against them. “Tease.”

Sobering up at her words, they gave her a small nod, “I understand.  I wouldn’t want to do anything that either of us wasn’t truly ready for.  And well talking works.”

“I know.” She giggled, her cheeks a little flushed even as her eyes were playful. “Figured we had to calm you down a little… We need to talk about intimacy before any of that happens and we’ve only just had the official couple conversation.”

They gave a nod, “That’s a fair point.”  CJ gave a small grin eyes a light with mischief, “Although we always seem to be doing things out of order anyway.  What with sharing a bath before even having the couple conversation.  Then of course said conversation had while naked...”

Fleur threw her head back, laughing loudly at their expression. “Sorry, but you were getting a little too excited.” She smirked and looked down.

“the look on your face was worth it too. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.” She giggled.

CJ huffed crossing their arms even as they blushed at the way she looked down and called them out on their body’s reaction.  “Yes well... Can’t exactly control that.”

Pouting they splashed her once more, “So mean.”

“Hmm…” She bit her lip looking them up and down in appreciation. She was very lucky that she’d find them that day at the library. Handsome, smart and talented were a hard combination for a person with veela blood to find in a partner.

“Good, Because considering you’ve been on the run the only possible people for you to practice with were Harry and Ron.”

CJ made a face at the comment, “Oh Merlin, no.  Harry while possible Bisexual is way too much like a little brother to me.  As for Ron, that boy is straighter than a Ruler.”  They shook their head to try and dispel the image her words had given them.

With that they stuck their tongue out at her, “Now I’m going to have that image stuck in my head all day.  Thank you ever so much.”

They kissed for a while and Fleur just basked in the moment. They were alive, they were finally together and the world was now working on recovering. They had so much to look forward to now.

“have I ever told you that you’re a really good kisser?” She narrowed her eyes at them playfully. “I hope you haven’t been getting practice…”

CJ gave a light snicker at her words before shaking their head, “No.  No practice, well except for with you so...”  They shrugged innocently as they added, “Must be natural talent.”

They then playfully splashed her, “Plus why would I tempt angering you by doing such a thing?”

Fleur giggles noticing their mind had gone there as well. “I wish we could have talked about earlier, but a part of me suspected it would come to war and that you’d be involved along with Harry and Ronald, so I didn’t say anything.”

She turned her face to place a kiss on their palm. “I would love being your girlfriend.” Fleur leaned forward to catch their lips with hers.

CJ gave a small shrug, “I don’t think I would have been able to make you worry even more than you already did if we had, had this conversation before the war.”  They nodded, “I think I was always going to be on the front lines in this fight, if not because I was Harry’s friend than because I was muggleborn.”

CJ’s smile grew to be a bit goofy as they returned the kiss with equal fervor.  They knew just how lucky they were that the two of them were on the same page.  Their hand moved from cupping her cheek to curling around her neck and pulling Fleur closer into a deeper kiss.

She returned the kiss, letting herself enjoy the intimate moment. They had kissed before, but never really defined things between them. But it was clear by now that it would not go away, they were more than just friend had always been, bit after all they had been through…

“I want more…” She stopped for a moment realizing how that sounded considering they were naked in a tub and kissing. “Our relationship, I mean. We’ve been dancing around it, around our feelings for years and I want us to be more than just friends who really enjoy kissing.”

They blinked and blushed a little as their mind went right to the gutter since the two were in the tub naked sharing a kiss.  But when she clarified, CJ gave a small smile and nodded, “As do I.  It was something I had wanted to talk to you about after the war.”

They looked her in the eye and gently cupped her cheek, “Fleur Delacour would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend or significant other.  Which ever you’d prefer?”

“Maybe…” She didn’t want to speak I’ll of the dead but… Still, there was nothing she could do about it. It was in the past, she just didn’t like it.

Rolling her eyes, she splashed them with a little bit of water. “I just don’t like the idea of you in danger, especially not when you were so young.”

CJ gave a small laugh at her less than impressed tone about Dumbledore.  They may still have a great deal of respect for the man but even CJ now couldn’t help looking back on their years at Hogwarts and thinking that at the bare minimum that the Headmaster was negligent but the three of them had been in literal danger.

They caught her hand and pulled her into them and giving her a kiss, “And I thank you for that.”
