Brand Identity for Trasfonda by Menta.
“Trasfonda is a restaurant that takes inspiration from traditional home recipes and fondas of Guadalajara. Using local and Mexican ingredients, Chef Paco Ruano, creates a menu that honours our authentic corn, the maíz criollo, reinterpreting everyday flavours into exquisite dishes with a hint of modern cantina, where everything is meant to be shared. A unique word mark was created, to resemble a certain Mexican Revolution influence, along with a set of handmade stamps that create a sense of tradition.”
Menta is an independent branding & illustration studio founded by Laura Méndez, in 2008. The focus of their work is on natural brands and ethically produced goods with a wink to vintage typographies, and a hint of femininity. They love to research typographies from other decades, bring them to the present with a clean, timeless look & feel, anchored in the details for a great brand experience.

Thomas Heatherwick reveals Zeitz MOCAA art galleries carved out of Cape Town grain silo
Thomas Heatherwick has created South Africa’s biggest art museum – by hollowing out the inside of a historic grain silo building. Described by the British designer as “the world’s tubiest building”, the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, or Zeitz MOCAA, is set to become the world’s most important exhibition space for African art.
Life is One Big Road With Lots of Signs
Routelines was inspired by data. After working on several recent data visualization projects focusing on open data Nick Rougeux, a web designer living in Chicago, got the itch to create something physical to which everyone could instantly relate.
Roads are everywhere. We travel them daily and rarely give them a second thought. They outline our neighborhoods and cities and sometimes define cultural boundaries. They’re usually only visible on maps, covered by labels and accompanied by landmarks. Nick wanted to see what they look like on their own.
