Red Bull Hill Chasers 2012
I've got a fair few photos from Saturday night's activities on Park Street in Bristol, so I'm posting up the best ones of the bunch with some words too. I spent most of the night in the rider area looking after 'Team Ed' (Ed T & Ed D) before their races, and helping them out with the last minute essentials, in the case of Ed D this was lending him my rear wheel due to puncture issues throughout the day.
Pre race Ed T amongst other kept warm on turbo trainers & rollers, this was much needed on such a cold night, and definitely proved to get the legs warmed up for the short but powerful hill sprint.

Ed got a great start & made his way up the course in front of the geared cyclocross shredder, but got overtaken inches from the finish line. A great effort from big man Ed who ran the number 1 plate on board his pub/hill chase bike.
The biggest name in the line up was Liquigas Cannondale's Ted King, who flew over from the USA for the event, invited by joint organisers CSG.
Ted was up against last year's winner Chris Metcalfe from Charge Bikes, who has Park Street dialled as he knocked Mr King out in the first round!
Next up for TDO/Team Ed was Mr Dorsey, the Hench Hipster qualified 6th in Saturday's open qualifier, result!
Ed D was up against local boy Charles of Cadence in Bath, whose an awesome cyclocross racer & proved too fast even for Ed 'The Shred' Dorsey who was knocked out in a closely fought round.

One last photo of the GT team riders getting ready for a night of hill racing in Bristol. The eventual winner was Ben Simmons, an elite racer for Wiggle. The after party was put together by Red Bull, and once again it was another messy night. Big ups to Charge, Red Bull & CSG for putting the whole thing on. Here's to next year!
