Bradley looked over at Cas, tilting his head slightly. “We’re in a coffeeshop in Miami. It’s not too far from my house here. I’ll drive us over there,” the blonde said kindly as he squeezed the man’s hand gently. “And we’ll drop your stuff off there, before I’ll take you around town. You can settle down at my house.”

“You have a car too?” Cas asked, trying to not seemed to surprised by this information. A few different questions ran through his mind as they headed outside. The biggest was how long he would be able to stay with Bradley. Would they just pick things up like nothing ever changed? He hoped so but was afraid to ask.

Bradley took Cas’ hand into his own, squeezing it lightly. “Well, you could also call it my home,” he said kindly, looking down at the man. He smiled, before gesturing to the door. “Shall we go then?” he mused, making sure that his phone and his car keys were still in his pocket.

A little sigh left his lips but he nodded at the new word. He knew that word, he just never understood what it meant. People referred to so many different places as home. “We shall.” Cas agreed, heading for the door. “Where are we?”

KAne purred at the others pets, the sounds rumbling through his chest “You want to know about me?” he questioned curiously- no one had ever said such a thing to him before, well, apart from Bradley.

“What do you wish to know?”

“I wish to know everything. What human foods do you like?” Cas asked, asking the first questions that came to his mind. “Where do you sleep? Do you like music? Do you still hunt for blood or do you go down to the infirmary?”

Bradley picked up his cup of coffee, before taking Cas’ extended hand. He stood up as well, nodding at the suggestion. “Of course. I’d love to show you around town. Should we drop off your belongings first?” he said kindly, gesturing to Cas’ bag. “We can set them down and then I can show you around town after that?” Bradley offered.

Cas glanced down at his bag, he had been so used to carrying it around with him it never even occurred to him to drop it off at Bradley’s. “Yes. We should do that. I wish to see your dwelling...that is the proper word for where you live, yes?” He asked, looking up at the man.

Bradley hummed softly, only smiling a little as Cas pulled away. He ran a hand through the man’s hair, sliding it down his back slowly. “You’re right. Let’s take this elsewhere, yes?” he murmured, his eyes looking up at the man with a desperate look of hope. He didn’t want to lose Cas, especially after everything. Bradley wanted to keep him safe and close with him, cuddled up in his arms every moment of his life. “You can stay with me now… I have my own place. It’d be just us…”

Smiling, Cas nodded in agreement. He missed being alone with Bradley. Standing up, he picked up his bag and held his hand out to Bradley. “You can show me around this new town of yours along the way.” He suggested. “I haven’t been exploring the human world as much as I have wanted.”

Bradley let out a soft humming noise, trying to reassure the man. He wrapped his arms around him, pulling him closer to him until Cas was almost on his lap. “Stay with me…” Bradley murmured softly into the man’s ear, letting Cas scent him and nuzzle him as much as he wanted. The blonde wasn’t going to lose his mate so easily this time. Not again. He would keep him with him forever, if it were the last thing he ever did.

Cas held tightly to Bradley, moving closer to the man as he was pulled. “I did not plan on leaving.” He whispered back, nuzzle his head against Bradley’s. He pulled away a minute later, remembering where they were. “We are in public. This is not something people do in public.” He spent a long time at the asylum with different doctors and nurses and patients being taught how to act like a human and he wanted to make sure that he acted like one. He did not want to be sent back to hell.

Bradley furrowed his brows at Cas’ small whimper. He didn’t like hearing that noise out of his mate. The blonde squeezed the former darkling’s hand tightly, holding onto him close. “I wish I did too..” he murmured softly. “But you’re here now with me… And I’m not leaving you again, okay?” The blonde whispered, tucking his head down into Cas’ neck shyly, as though unsure if he could still do this anymore. Perhaps Cas had moved on from him, after all, since Bradley did leave him.

Cas wanted to be mad at Bradley. He wanted to be like everyone else in the asylum who lost somebody during or after the war. Bitter. Mean. He wanted to yell and cry. He wanted Bradley to know hurt and scared he had been when he was left alone at the asylum. But he was none of those things. Instead he pulled Bradley closer, trembling with relief that Bradley still cared for him. “I am not leaving either.” He whispered, burying his face in the man’s golden hair.

Bradley smiled as their legs were still pressed together. He hummed softly, listening to Cas speak. “I’m not that beautiful,” Bradley said with a laugh, though he blushed slightly at the compliment. His voice faltered however, at the former darkling’s question.

“…I-It’s been a long time…” Bradley murmured. He couldn’t look into Cas’ eyes, to see the hurt and questioning behind them. The blonde swallowed thickly, sighing heavily. “…I’m sorry…” he mumbled, feeling ashamed that he had left his mate behind in the asylum after the war. He didn’t know what else to say though. Bradley didn’t know why he left, other than he had to go.

“You are very beautiful, Bradley.” Cas insisted, giving the man’s hand a squeeze. He smiled seeing the blush spread across Bradley’s cheeks. It was something he enjoyed from the older seeing him so flustered and red faced. IT was attractive on him.

Cas sighed, wishing Bradley would look at him. A quiet whimper fell from his lips. There were some darkling traits that he couldn’t shake no matter how hard he tried and the little sounds he made were one of them. “I wish you would have taken me with you.”

The hound looked up at the other, a purr rumbling through his chest and bubbling up out of his lips “Bradley is very smart” he replied, cuddling close into the other “He has taught me very much, I owe him my life”

“I know he is.” Cas smiled, gently petting the hound behind his ear. “He has taught me very much as well. But we both know very much about Bradley. What I do not know--what I wish to know is more about you.”

Bradley hummed softly, pleased to have Cas hugging him tightly. He gently guided the former darkling back into his seat, sitting next to him as he kept one arm around him. He blinked at Cas’ tightened grip, which made the blonde instinctively move close to him again.

The blonde smiled as Cas rubbed his face gently, staring deep into the man’s eyes. “I’ve changed a little…” he murmured softly. “I missed you too, Cas… I’m glad you came for me. I’m happier that you fond me though…” Bradley whispered after a moment, letting their foreheads rest together.

Even though Cas had been taking care of himself for years, he still found himself giving into what Bradley wanted him to do and sat down in the chair. He moved closer as Bradley sat down, their legs pressing together in the booth.

“You are still as beautiful as I remember.” Cas whispered back, closing his eyes and savouring the moment of closeness. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in a million years. How long as it been? Why did you leave?” He pulled away and looked at the man, pleading with his eyes for an answer.

Kane looked up at the other with curious blue eyes, a soft wuff escaping his lips as he nodded and curled up into the other “Thank you” he replied quietly “I quite love you too”

Cas smiled down at the hound and pressed a kiss to the top of his head. A sign of affection that Cas enjoyed. Shifting around, he pulled Kane into his lap. “You do not need to thank me. Love is something every being needs. Bradley told me that.”

Bradley blinked in surprise, letting out a small noise as the man jumped up to hug him. He stiffened a little, before recognizing that feeling. That cuddly feeling that made him warm inside. He pulled back slightly, his eyes widening. “C-Cas?” he stammered.

“Cas, that’s you? You’ve changed over all this time!” Bradley rambled, his arm wrapping around the former darkling. “I didn’t recognize you for a moment,” he murmured quietly, before gesturing to the table. “Shall we sit? What brings you here? I’m surprised to see you, but I’m happy to see you,” the blonde rumbled, keeping one arm around Cas.

Cas wrapped his arms tightly around the former brave, not caring about the dull throbbing in his leg from where he banged it on the table when he rose to quickly. All that mattered was Bradley and the warm feeling in Cas’s stomach that came with the familiar scent of the former mate. It may not have been as strong or as detailed as Cas remembered, but his scenes had faded from darkling to human. But the smell of Bradley Sterling was undeniable.

As Bradley pulled away, Cas tightened his grip on the other’s arm, not wanting to lose him again. “You have not changed.” Cas breathed out, running his fingers gently over the other’s face. “I came for you. I heard that you were. I missed you. I wanted to see you.”

Bradley strolled through the coffee shop doors, pushing it open as he walked in. He was staring down at his phone, reading the text from his agent, telling him that he had booked another shoot tomorrow evening for some fancy watch company. He idly typed out a quick reply as he looked up at the menu, trying to figure out which coffee order he wanted. 

As the blonde quickly placed his order and moved aside to wait for his drink, he turned his gaze to the patients present in the shop. He hummed softly, smiling a little to himself, before his gaze fell upon one patron in the room. He furrowed his brows, tilting his head curiously. That face.. It seemed different, yet so familiar to him. Bradley grabbed his drink, before walking over cautiously until he was standing next to the mysterious figure’s table.

“…I-I’m sorry, do I know you?”

Cas wasn’t sure where he was, but he knew what he wanted when he stepped off the bus. He wanted coffee. Coffee was something that he had taken a liking too back at the day care where he worked. It was something a lot of the other care takers drank during the early shifts. He started drinking it to appear normal and it turned out he actually liked it.

After he got his drink, he headed to a table in the corner with his bag at his feet. The previous patron had left a newspaper paper on the table and he began flipping through it in search of the comics. It was the only thing he liked about the newspaper. The bright colours and simple jokes made him laugh.

He looked up from the comic about the cat when a shadow cast over him. He stared up at the person and a smile spread slowly across his face. He knew that scent anywhere.

“Bradley.” He breathed out, jumping to his feet and throwing his arm around the blonde.

The hounds eyes widened as he looked up at the other “You love me?’ he questioned curiously— he believed it to be a miracle that Bradley, a Brave loved him in the first place, now someone else? Impossible

Cas looked down at Kane and thought about what he just said. Love was still a strange concept to him. But he knew that being with Bradley made him happy and made his stomach go into knots. He got that same feeling when he was around Kane. “Yes. I do love you, Kane.”

Kane frowned in response as he thought over the question “I did at first yes… But I have many things to learn about human emotions, and bradley has taught me that it is possible to love more than one”

“I am very glad that you can love more than one. I am very glad I am allowed to love you.” Cas smiled. “I am also glad that you do not resent me. I did not wish to upset you when I mated with Bradley.”

Ordinary Human || Cas and Bradley

It had been years since the war at the Broken Asylum. Years since Cas fought along side the humans and angels against the demons and the beings who created him. Years since Cas decided to stay among the humans and act as one of them. Since his first step outside. Since he had to say goodbye to Bradley and the others at the asylum who didn’t decide to stay. How many years, Cas was unsure. He still had trouble with many human concepts. Reading, writing, any concept of time. He learned enough to get by and pretend to be human, but still struggled.

After Bradley left, Cas learned to be human. He had learned as much as he could be human and decided to leave. He wanted the human experience. He wanted what he had with Bradley. He wanted a mate. No. That wasn’ the human term. He wanted a…husband. He wanted what an little human to look after. A child. Like the little one at the asylum he had gotten close to. But he was still unsure about how to obtain those things. He was unsure if he even wanted any of that with somebody other than Bradley or Kane.

Many thoughts crossed his mind as he packed up to leave the asylum for the final time in his search for Bradley. What would life be like out there? Where would Bradley even be? How would he get there? Would Bradley be happy to see him? Would he get what he wanted when he found Bradley? Would Bradley want the same things that he wanted?

“You do not need to thank me.” Cas reminded Kane, squeezing his hand back. “We are mates. It is what we are supposed to do.”

Kane purred in reply, shifting closer to the other without thinking— soon resting his head on Cas’ shoulder as he purred quietly, the sound rumbling through his chest

A little noise of surprise left the darkling's lips as the two got closer. But a happy purr replaced it as he set the rabbit down and wrapped his arms around the other. "You do not resent me for coming into what you and Bradley had?" He asked, running his fingers through Kane's hair.
