OOC: It's Time for Me to Move On

I won't be using this RP account, anymore. I probably won't delete it, but I won't be on it, either. It was fun for a while, and I thank every last one of you who made it so. Balder, Fandral, bb, Jubes, Xarus, Hercules... I will miss interacting with you guys, but it's time to move on. I've been miserable with a lot of things for months now, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm only sticking around because I'm afraid of change. Well, it's time for change. Before the bad starts to overshadow the good in my memories.

Hopefully we'll meet again some time, on other accounts or other fandoms. But Hoder Odinson has breathed his last.

Balder would only dissuade me or take the matter to Loki. I suppose Odin has experience with these matters but...

[He already has a veritable list of things he would ask his birth father, and this does not even make the top ten. He doubts he will get that far.]

Thor is still Allfather. And King. Perhaps he could arrange a meeting between monarchs.

In any case, I can’t see why Odin would object. He’s not the one who killed me, after all.

I do not know what to trade to get it back. There is little else to be traded for a life but another life, and that solves nothing. I still have most of the apples Idunn left with me when she ventured to Midgard, but I doubt Hela would accept them as payment a second time. I'm sure she only did the first in order to be rid of me. ... She takes after her father.

Aye, there is much I agree with. I too feel uneasy about all of it. There is a wall, it seems, that has been formed between us and them. ‘Tis strange, and unwelcome…but I suppose we can only gauge the true vulgarity of it on the time when Sigmund does not smile. Then we will have something to worry about. Then there will be bad days ahead.

Ah, but what would I know… [He takes a hearty swig, wetting his lips and half his chin in the process.]

You're a more optimistic man than I. [Hoder took another long pull of vodka and considered. Perhaps it was less optimism and more that Fandral did not know the whole story. Fandral had let his secret slip, in a moment of supreme drunkeness, but Hoder still held his. And he thought it more awful by far.]

It's not so much Loki I worry about. I expect a snake to bite. But Balder... You have no idea how far he has already gone for Loki. I dare not think what else he would willingly sacrifice.

‘Tis nearly healed, I’d say. I am just glad that awful nasal accent is gone.

And yes, I hold no ill will towards the man, but I will say that I will avoid his fists for a good long while. And Balder is still Balder, merely with more to protect, no matter how vile the thing he is protecting.

And I do not mean Sigmund, I assure you, he is a ball of laughing light! [He says quickly, earnestly, for he does like the child.]

Aye, quite literally. [He gives a rueful grin.] If there is any silver lining to this cloud, it is Sigmund. And yet... I worry for him. Norns only know how Loki could corrupt the child. He's already got his claws dug into my brother, and I'd just as soon not see my nephew suffer the same fate.

If anyone should have had his face smashed in, it's that snake. And yet the messenger is the one who is punished while even the King is content to ignore the one who did the deed. Maybe Balder sees it as protection, but... Loki's enemies are oft our allies. This time it was only a broken nose, but what if...

[He shook his head. Balder had already given his very soul for the bastard. There was nothing he would not do to see Loki safe. And that scared him more than anything.]

They say it is flavored water, or some such nonsense!

[He opens his won bottle of spirit and takes a few swigs. Yes, strawberry is better.]

I tried some, once. Jubilee brought it with her when she visited after the accident with Sigmund. I'm not quite sure how I would describe it... Sweet and...

But that's not why I came here. How is your nose doing? I apologize for my twin. He has not been himself since... Well, long since before my return, if I read the situation rightly.

[Huffing a sigh, he stares into his bottle.]
