Wow, so it’s been awhile

I have not logged into Tumblr since last year, and before then, it had been since 2009. I had a large following in 2009, mostly music, relationships, sex, and an occasional ~tasteful nude~. I deleted that Tumblr with well over 1500 followers, shortly after a breakup with my ex. It was too painful and too real, and at the time, I was unwilling to accept it.  Now I sit here in my living room, with my new relationship, thankful for the long way I’ve come. Thankful and proud to be a feminist. Thankful to unlearn misogynistic ways that were taught to me. Thankful to have a partner that’s equally and socially aware of societal change, and thankful to be the person I am today. 

A lot of what I’ve learned and believe in is because of social media. Social Media helps reach others and open their eyes in more ways than you know. It is an extremely powerful tool that can build bridges and break walls.

In case you’re wondering why you see “latinx” randomly. I like to respect people and their pronouns, so should you. 

Buzzfeed’s sibling and latinx site, Pero Like, is an online source that is not neccessarily social media platform, but will pop up on various platforms and help educate those on current subjects in the latinx community.

I happen to follow the person that runs Unapologetically Brown Series on IG, and it’s very disheartening to see scum (top photo) deface such a beautifully, powerful image and statement. The bottom is the original. These signs are posted all over NYC and I hope she doesn’t stop posting them.
