I just uh, watched someone compare Cartman to the song Hansel by Sodikken
So what is Cartmans Sodikken song?
Before we do this.
I wanna make it very clear, Sodikken is my favorite music artist and has been for years. At least 4, maybe 5 years. I love sodikken.
And while I think Eric Cartman can be compared to a sodikken song, I just don't believe Hansel takes the cake.
Hansel is a sad little boy whom is neglected and goes around showing people how Amazing he can be until he does his final "amazing" act of killing himself in the final verse.
Cartman is a boy who is loved and cherished TOO MUCH by his mother and only begs for attention because he needs all eyes on him all the time because he thinks he's a special creation.
So in my opinion Hansel is NOT be compared to Eric Cartman.
On the other hand I think Cartman would make for a GREAT People-Eater. People eater is a rather abusive manipulator which pretty much sums Cartman up. They constantly want and take more just as Cartman constantly wants to be better at everything.
I even believe this song could be used to make a pretty good Kyman edit if I had to use it. (Though as you may know I dislike Kyman so I wouldn't)
So to put it in perspective: I'm not saying I wouldnt match him to a sodikken song but I'm not hearing Hansel.

Also too many people yumeship hellpark characters and idk why but it makes me hella uncomfortable. Probably because I still see them as children (probably because they're all just turning adults and the au was cut short) idk something about watching South park, then reading hellpark and going "oh yeah I NEED to date Craig Tucker.... But it's Hellpark Craig so it's okay!" Doesnt sit right with me.
But I also know that I'm both in and participate in a fandom known for its heighnous shipping culture and it's fictional and they technically adults/young adults in this.
There are so many artists I adore on this app that I won't at all or barely interact with coz I've learnt they ship it. And before you say "it's not, it's not!" A proship has one of two meanings. A ship that is pro all types(basically meaning it can be really bad) or problematic ship and as a character dynamic they are MEANT to be problematic. But not to the extent of being shipped together? I'm gonna like add on here and sound like a chronically online expert(please kill me) but do you know the difference between we darkship and a compship? Compships are Complex ships. Doesnt necessarily have to be "bad" but 9/10 times it's used for a ship that is *morally* complex. This includes things such as Power imbalances, inc*st and *buse. In which in quite a few episodes we see Cartman carrying multiple of these traits onto Kyle, so we not? Have none of you witnessed Ginger Cow? A Darkship is a ship that uses "dark", " disgusting " and "taboo" themes in it's nature think murder/victim, *buser/victim, there is ALWAYS a power imbalance in these ships that it feels like your missing when you created Kyman. There's a reason the proshipper community took these words and you all need to jam it in your brains that maybe Eric Cartman and Kyle Broflovski actually shouldn't date.
I understand what you are trying to say in this yet I still do not agree with you and most likely you don't care about my opinion but they do have an equal relationship there are countless scenes where Kyle turns Cartman's actions onto him such as the scenes where Kyle pulls Cartman aside and yells at him or scenes were he is EXTREMELY MEAN but yes I do agree Cartman does usually get the one up on Kyle but its never meant to be that the boys are actually these things in a realistic setting they all make fun of each other they all are equal it is just that Cartman gets his way more than the others because it is funnier but there are examples where he doesn't
IMO almost nothing in South Park can be considered realistic or anything but comedic the latest season was just about Satan being impregnated by Trump thats not very realistic but it really doesn't matter as long as the ship is legal and not super abusive which its very clear in the scenes were Kyle and Cartman both save each other that if they were in a relationship it would be equal in the way kismesis' are equal in Homestuck
Which is why I think Kyman is more of a kismesissitude type of relationship
When a pair of adversaries delve into this quadrant, they become each other's KISMESIS. As one of the concupiscent quadrants, it plays a role in procreation as well. There is no particularly good human translation for this concept. The closest would be an especially potent arch-rivalry. (obviously no procreation they're canonically kids for longer than they are adults in all of the show and the movies)

I also completely get what your getting at, Cartman is always meant to be the "dark humored joke" in the group and it DOES work. But I do think he can take it too far.
Also agreed in second paragraph. NOTHING in South park has EVER been realistic, and it's something I enjoy. I fear I do humanize things a bit much but thats my way of interacting in a fandom, I become largely interested.. -but I do hear you because that IS true! The issue I believe I get is there's no verbal kindness, even when one side IS being kind, idk if that sounds stupid...
