A while ago I modeled this toy Vader for my buddy @metcalflovesyou‘s film “He’s Watching” https://vimeo.com/248093915

He gets brutally microwaved. It was fun figuring out all the stages of meltyness.

I didn’t do any “real” rendering. 8) Instead I comped together several playblasts with different materials, one for AO, specular, diffuse, etc. It’s definitely not physically accurate but it fit nicely into the look of the film.

Recently I was accepted into the 2 year English track program at Gobelins! I’m so excited to start classes and meet my fellow international students.

Hi! Classes are about to start up again so I’ll be falling into the black hole of thesis once more... but here’s a new thing!!!

This little crocodile was my first real experiment with compositing 3d and 2d elements together. I’m pretty happy with the result and I learned a ton about the process so I’m not quite as afraid of it anymore...

Croc animated in Flash, BG made in Maya and final composite done in After Effects.
