I am going to say this as gently as i can, but i struggle with tone. I also struggle with creating clear and concise phrasing. I dont want my words to be taken as aggreesive or misconstrued by any means, so i am very sorry if they come out that way.

Calling people names and claiming them to be stuff when you have never even spoken to them in the first place to express your concerns does not make you the better person. I can understand if you dislike somebody for something or have differing opinions and would prefer to keep your space safe and comfy for yourself but i think its safe to say that it can also be quite judgemental as well. I can understand if you had tried to reach out to people you dont like, as an attempt to clear the air or maybe try to understand things since second hand word from others are not always reliable sources and/or maybe there was a misunderstanding, which happens a lot with individuals who are neurodivergent. But if that didnt happen, then it creats a really unfortunate situation for all parties involved. And i dont think you always need to approach peoplr and tell them why you dont like them, but in that same vein, i dont think that judgement should be cast and shared with others to force their hand on the subject either. It also creates an unsafe and toxic environment amongst other things, not to mention that it kinda strips people of individuality and identity. Also forcing other peoples hands to pick sides puts others in uncomfortable situations and can make you quite unapproachable. I for one have been really nervous and scared to talk to you for fear of being attacked if i misunderstood something. Which is sad cause i really wanted to write with your zelda and enjoyed your posts for her.

I do wish and hope the best for you though. And i hope that you are able to flourish and be happy. And i am sorry if you have ever been hurt by others in any way. Nobody deserves that and I think you deserve to be happy.

if this is about my short dni list... one person on my dni more or less cut all ties with me for talking about fandom racism ( tho they didn't tell me that's what it was about--i think i was the one to block them on discord after they started actively defending bigots but they more or less cut ties with me first ) and then later on started to stalk me and stuff like sorry i wasn't going to circumvent our mutual blocks to talk to someone who was actively trying to harm me?? the other person i didn't talk to myself, no, but i have multiple friends who had tried to talk to him about his bigotry, both before and after the callout was made, and it did not go well, so sorry i didn't decide to waste my time and energy trying to change his mind when even someone who was friends with him at the time couldn't?? sorry i don't think an apology to me from him is going to fix things, because he was specifically directing anti-black harassment to a friend of mine, and that's not something i can accept an apology for?? like. there's actually a reason that i have only two names on my dni.

and like. idc who my mutuals write with--i have mutuals in common with both individuals?? i just want to reduce the possibility of being talked about to those individuals. i'm very clear that i'm not trying to dictate what other people do or who they hang out with.

but in all seriousness...is having boundaries suddenly bad now? because i do not operate under the view that i have to allow bigots in my space. i get that people make mistakes, but the two people i have in my dni very much have dug their heels in or have gone out of their way to accept bigots in the rpc, and honestly. that creates a toxic environment, one where marginalized folks are not safe. i strongly believe that if we tolerate bigotry, then we only allow it to fester, and given enough time, the space will have only bigots because no one else will feel comfortable.

i'd say that i'm sorry that this stance apparently makes me scary and unapproachable but honestly after facing so much bigotry and other harassment in the rpc for being staunchly anti-bigotry...i'd rather chase away potential writing partners because i seem scary or whatever than deal with all of that shit again.

Guess what! I'm also bad at reading tone. This doesn't excuse me if oh, I don't know, I send a passive-aggressive anonymous message to Nox about how the SCARY and MEAN POC is TERRIFYING and will ACCUSE ME OF WRONGTHINK. As someone who DMs Nox regularly, I promise you that it's very, VERY easy to be nice to them. Just... talk to them like a human person. Because they are one.

The environment you're suggesting here, where we should all give everyone the benefit of the doubt and not speak up if we see people engage in bad faith behavior, is one of toxic positivity--- which is even WORSE. I should know, I've dealt with a person who tried to create that environment years ago. One where people couldn't rock the boat or address their behavior in private, because then they're the bad guy. If you've seen any video about the McElroy fandom mentioning the 'no bummers' phenomenon, that's what toxic positivity is.

And frankly, it's REALLY insulting to suggest that giving people all the information they need to make an informed decision is 'forcing' their hand. I've been accused of that years ago, because I informed a friend of mine that someone was being duplicitous behind their back. I didn't tell them to block, they decided that themselves. Shock of all shocks, people in the RPC have AGENCY and can decide that somebody is bad news for themselves.

Also. By the by, your morals are inconsistent. So, Nox isn't allowed to set up boundaries about the types of people they don't want to interact with, but you can swooce in and cast all sorts of moral judgments upon them for not tolerating bigoted behavior in the RPC? Ever heard of 'rules for thee, but not for me?'

Curio, formerly known as Sucrose and Nil in the past, is somebody who consistently guilt-trips and gets up in people's faces when they block him. He's very recently gone out of his way to demonize people who block him under the guise of "I want to know what I've done wrong!". I was content with leaving the situation be after my run-in long ago with him where he got up all in my face for blocking him since I didn't like how he kept asking for smut interactions under the assumption that he might change, but later I found out he's been doing this to people non-stop for years, this is repeated behavior that needs to be addressed.

Newsflash, Curio, as people have constantly stressed to you over the years nobody owes you an explanation. Especially when you have this sort of damn attitude when confronted.

This old blog goes over his past behavior in-depth.
