I have chosen to post and reblog the majority of the images on my blog to portray my conception of ‘futurism’ in fashion.

Futurism. Many people may jump to the idea of models resembling robots with the uncanny valley, wearing holographic mini skirts. Though very happening and modern in the 60′s, I think the chic space age look is a little tired and overused. After watching the film Her (2013), I have become obsessed with masculine, classically tailored clothes made from natural materials. As the film is set in the future, I took upon it as perfect inspiration. Linen blazers, brushed cotton shift dresses, raw silk shirts, denim overcoats, canvas trainers; the list could go on. They are timeless classics, robust and versatile. The designs may all resemble clothes from different time eras and continents, but a modern twist will have been added in the detail. The outfits are very flattering to each individual, they imply an easy nature, practicality and ounces of cool. I believe the idea of reflecting on the old and durable styles of the past is very futuristic and modern.
