Had a kin dream that I know means something in terms of kin lives so I'm trying to work it out.
In this dream I was Robin, but I was also Sunday. We were seperate people at the start of the dream, and then we merged together as the dream went on. As Robin I was an idol, as Sunday I was a maid (yes Sunday was fem in my dream), and I also cared for a baby Sunday at some point.
I loved Sunday like a sister... I was protective of baby Sunday. And then time skipped so far ahead that it felt like we were two different people. And then we became one singular being where I was fufilling her roles as maid Sunday and ignoring my own as idol Robin.
Now to work out what this could mean... I don't know if it's a case of "I lost Sunday and couldn't cope with her absence so I became her", or a "system canon 5000".
My main images from this dream are:
Sunday being (clothed) in a shower, looking depressed
Maid Sunday/Me
Our merged self
These could mean: Hidden emotions, a servitude, and cleansing and then a desire to be closer to Sunday- Which does fit into their canon HSR relationship. I can't shake the feeling that us merging was a literal thing- But it may not have been because I have been reluctant to kinfirm either due to their siblings status (for some reason my brain won't let me kin both) so this may have been an acceptance dream rather than a what happened in my past life dream.
My initial impression was that I (Robin) lost Sunday and couldn't cope with the guilt so I pretended to be her to fool people (myself?) into thinking she was still alive. Is this what happened in my Robin canon? I don't know.
i remember you from my past lives. yeah. terrible lay. also a really boring kill. every single time we met even. wanna find out if the pattern holds
Doubles are kind of like in Toy Story 2 when Buzz finds all the other Buzzs and he fights with the other Buzz for true Buzzdom but in the end they find peace as Buzz brothers
"kin used to mean relating to a character back in my days!" so! no actually! it always meant identifying as a character
edit: this is in the context of fictional characters. shut up about the original meaning because this post isnt about that; im blocking anyone who comments about it
Fictionfolk culture is using your kinmems for banger fanfic ideas
— 🧯⚠️
.
fictionfolk culture is being a selfshipper and doing oshikatsu of the same character you kin/identify as
looking at one specific character going "yep thats me, my partner, and the person i spend ridiculous amounts of money on"
.
I gave him a lobotomy once. And I'd do it again.

I want to do kin stuff but I am sleepy zzzz....
Fictionfolk flag - a flag for anyone with any fictional identity, or anyone who falls under the fictionfolk umbrella.
This can include but is not limited to:
Fictionkin folks
Fictionflickers
Other fictionfolk identities
Synpaths/otherhearted folks
And fictives.
The symbol was made to look like a loop/repeating, that there's no one way to define everyone's identity, and that there can be many different ways someone experiences it. The inside is supposed to look like an open book, representing the fictional aspect of the individual's identity.
Symbol and flag with titles beneath the cut.
[Flag ID: A flag with five stripes with colors from the top down being dark purple, purple, a dark peach color, orange, and dark orange.]
how its going
Personally I have mixed feelings about people using system/adjacent apps for things like tracking kin shifts and stuff, but I won't deny that it would make tracking ours hell of a lot easier.
is there a way to induce kin memories
Hmmmmmmm this is a good question which will get 5000 different answers but I will answer as best I can from personal experience.
Personally, I believe so. I feel like I should clarify that I have a daydreaming issue (probably immersive daydreaming) so that heavily impacts how I engage with my kintype.
Anyway. For me you literally just gotta surround yourself with stuff that reminds you of the kin. Admittedly I use divination to get a head start (ie 'is my canon noncanon', 'is it a magical girl au', ect) and once I have the basics I just surround myself with stuff that reminds me of it.
Like, say I want to develop the memories of the magical girl Fyodor canon. I would play my magical girl Fyodor kin playlist, get the memories I have already written down and try to focus on parts that I don't have answers too. Like my relationship with Nikolai. And then I tend to write, I just jot down what comes into my head, sometimes it's nonsense that makes 0 sense to anyone (including me) and then when I finish zoning out, I know that the session is over. Then I have to make sense of what I had written and how it feels and what I can envisage.
Sorry, this probably isn't much help, if you need more details please lmk (also sorry if this is ass we are blurry as hell rn).
I don't know if this is really a thing that has been argued ever, but in some situations, maladaptive / immersive daydreaming should more often be considered a thing that can be alterhuman or fall under the umbrella, especially IF the daydreamer themself thinks it counts.
To me, these two things are inseparable. My fictparas are my "kin memories". Source memories are as important as paracosm ones. I spend so much time in my thoughts that I don't think about the reality of having a body. Before a being with a body, my sense of self starts at calling myself a daydreamer, which I feel is different from being a human with a human body. I consider myself a work of fiction because everything I am and will experience is through nonhumanity and fiction. With all the conversations, feelings, memories, relationships, etc. that come solely from the things that happen in paracosms, I think there is a divide between that and the typical human experience. It can effect your sense of identity. So it should at least be mentioned more frequently.
Do any kinfolk here oshikatsu, and if so do you oshikatsu your kintypes?
Yes I oshikatsu and I oshi my kintypes
Yes I oshikatsu, but I oshi characters that arent my kintype
No I don't oshikatsu
Not kin/IDK button
Awesome my selfish nature strikes again.
