Before and Now
I like dark colors. I also like colors that are refreshing for the eyes. But the dark ones appeal to me the most. Or those color combinations that’re hard to distinguish one from the other, but you could clearly see the difference from looking at different angles.
Umbrellas, for one. I’ve always picked a dark colored one. Although, these days, especially rainy ones, I find the transparent umbrellas appealing to me so much. I still don’t have one, though, despite it being an already common thing around here. All of the designs have hook-shape handles. I don’t like it. Although, I get the practical purpose of it. I like the straight ones, with string that you could wear on your wrist. I’d like to have one black and one white-transparent umbrellas. The handles of both need to be the straight ones with string. I used to not like big/tall umbrellas. I always go for the foldable ones that could fit in my bag. I felt I look stupid carrying umbrellas (almost) taller than I am. But now… I see the convenience of it. Still depends, I guess, on how much load/weight I’m carrying on that particular day. Nowadays I don't mind if I’ll be carrying tall umbrellas that I won’t be able to fit in my bag.
Home. There was a time I didn’t want to go back to what we call home. But there wasn’t anywhere else I could go. I expected our school trip to last a whole day. Sadly, it didn’t and I was home just about after lunch. Our house back then hadn’t really been fixed up after it was built and we started living there. There are lots of places I could have gone to and just go home late, but I didn’t have the money. Not back then. Even just for staying in a park, I have none. I found my father taking his nap upstairs when I arrived home. I carefully and quietly shut the door then just sat on the couch. I spent 4 hours there, not moving, not talking, not fidgeting about. Just staying still and quiet to not wake him up and spend just a peaceful afternoon all by myself. In those 4 hours, I really felt sad for myself. We have a house that I don’t want to come home to. It was twilight when I heard him wake up. I waited just at about the time he was already going down the stairs. Then I got up and made it sound like I just arrived home. Now, we have this house I share with my sister. It is the first time in our lives that we didn’t want to go out much. We still go out for vacation, be out under the sun, and to let my son have fun outside. But, at the end of the day, we always yearn for home. I’m happy, too, that my son loves our home.
Love. There are many kinds, I know, but there's just one that has and still is eluding me for far too many times already. It might be me, it might be them, it might be us. But I could only speak for myself and it's looking more like I have not been ready for them, even that one that I wanted and prayed for. It just cannot be too much or too little or "too" of everything. It has to just be enough. Am I ready now? I want to, but it doesn't seem like it's up to me.
Mirror. I used to be a "what you see is what you get". I don’t know if I still am now, but I do try to not be easily read. I try to defy wretched impressions and maintain, if not surpass, the good ones. It's getting harder. I don’t think it's because of what others see and think. It's more of, to reach what I'm aiming for inspite and despite of what others see and think. To be honest, though, I still can't escape the bounds of everything that surrounds me.
Loud. I used to have lots of things to say. I still do, but they're all kept inside me now. If I start it again, I might not see nor hear the end of it. But now that it's all in my mind, I look like a fool. Silly to those that know me. My mind has started to work so fast that my lips couldn't follow. And that if I force it, I'll stutter. The result of it: my feelings, expressions, comments are all written all over my face. But from then up to now, I'm still suck at conversations, be it silly or serious ones, I'm just no good at all.
Future. I still think about it a lot. I am quite an O.C., I guess, and always has things planned. I freak out and have to try my hardest to contain myself when things don't happen as planned. This is still me up to now. I'd like to think that I have changed in some ways. Just some, though, I think I'm still mostly me from before.

Is it a curse or a blessing? To know, to have that revelation and with it the necessity to choose a path and to choose it wisely.
Is it to be taken a curse or a blessing? That as the interim reaches its limit, perpetuum arrives to another's soul. Always, another's soul.
Probability has degraded to a possibility. Further degrading to be a figment. Clambering to enflame that flicker of hope that it turns out to be a phoenix.
All things are ephemeral. All things, always a cycle. Fate. Faith. Whispers in the wind that touches one's skin. One day, one day, it'll be for one's soul.
Random Thoughts
If I had gathered all the tears I’ve wept for you, how much would have I gotten by now? I bet that glass could’ve quenched a thirst. A bucket could’ve watered a mini garden. An ocean, perhaps, could’ve satiated drought. I honestly couldn’t tell.

One sees places then remembers events, basks on the feelings felt back then, then thinks of the person that one was with. A good memory? Then why does it hurt to remember... the event, the feeling, the person... A bad memory? Then what's with the obsession of remembering? What's so hard in not thinking of it anymore, since "forgetting" would always be just a figure of speech. 07JUL2014 01:19
H.E.A.R.T.
I attended a talk, and I liked what I heard. I think I learned. This is like a student’s reaction paper. My thoughts on things, and the perseverance to move forward and be a better individual than I was yesterday. HUMILITY. I was one of those who made sure I leave the impression of being a smart ass. I’ve had my share of being shamed, pretending I’m wise. Along the way, I’ve learned to admit that I don’t know everything and that it’s okay that I don’t know some stuff and there’s no shame in saying, “I don’t know.” We were once asked if we prefer to be a follower or a leader. I would’ve ambitioned to be a leader. But after analyzing, I preferred to be a follower. My reason? Being a leader may limit me to the generic outside view of things. Being a follower would put me in the spot where I know the details because I sifted through it. And I would be able to make better suggestions since I’m fully aware of what’s happening and I could be idealistically logical and fair. Now, there’s an urge in me to become a leader. And I realize that may be, on why I once chose to become a follower, was that I was afraid to lead. To make mistakes and be held responsble for the failures. I don’t want to be blamed. I’m well aware that not everybody would understand and I don’t want to be placed in that position where I would be judged and shamed. Being a leader is way more than that. It’s having the courage to go beyond or against the flow for a more prosperous result despite the scrutiny of everyone. It’s trusting your constituents to do their thing and do it best and proud. It’s manning up when they fall and fail but making sure they learn and get back up and still move forward. "No man is an island." ENTHUSIASM. I remember not feeling any satisfaction nor contentment nor fulfillment in anything. And I don’t think that those were one of the darkest days of my life. I don’t think I’ve had dark days. Just greys, perhaps. Dark is so dark. Black. Absence of light. Nothing. No, I’ve not had dark days, just greys. Enthusiasm was said to have come from “En THEOS”, meaning, in God. I don’t think I lost my faith in Him, just that I didn’t seek for Him nor try to need Him, and just contented myself to be on my own for a while. And all those times, I think I was lost. And for some reason, I liked being lost, to stay lost for some time. I felt empty and none seemed to amuse me. I wake up, get through the day, sleep, then start all over again. An everyday routine. I don’t remember clearly how nor when I truly decided to wake up. But when I did, I started to have directions again, paths laid out in front of me and senseful choices to make. "En THEOS". Life is not life without Him. ATTITUDE. I have lots this, both good and bad. "Attitude to gain altitude. Being competitive is an attitude of the mind." I’m not sure what to say in this. I’m pretty sure I’ve not harnessed mine enough. Competitive. I’d like to think I am one. But I would admit, I do not like competitions. There’s too much pressure. Until now, I’m trying to reach my goals with just doing better with what I’m good at. Regardless if others would see me as a threat or competition, I refuse to adhere to the demand. They may end up ahead of me, but I’ll get there. Not exactly in my own comfort zone, but in my own pace. I don’t like having to prove myself all the time, it’s exhausting. I’d rather that I shine amidst the glimmers, surprising people and surprising even myself. RESPECT. Guilty as charged, I choose who I respect. We were once advised, “You, who understands more, be the one to make way and adjust.” Give respect even if it’s not earned. I lived like this for a while. I got tired eventually and diverted to “You reap what you sow.”, giving respect only when one deserves it. I learned kind of the hard way. “Without feelings of respect, what is there to distinguish men from beasts. - Confucius”. It’s way more than just saying, “I will not stoop down to your level”. It’s more like, giving it regardless if it’s deserved or not, depicts kindness as well. Kindness and respect, combined, reaps way more than one could imagine. I’ve had my fall, and now I’m struggling to make it back up again. What’s done is done, and I could only move forward. TRUST. "Trust people and learn to adjust. Listen and learn to read between the lines." I wasn’t easily trustful, given the pessimistic way we were brought up when it comes to dealing with people —- so that we won’t get fooled easily. But growing up, I tried to give benefits of the doubt. Countless second chances on certain scenarios in life. But it’s a cruel and tricky world. I ended up giving chances to the wrong people and the wrong scenarios. Perhaps, because I did not learn to adjust. Or I didn’t make enough adjustment. As I am writing this, I could say that it’s because I didn’t listen enough. I hear, but I did not listen. In the end, I still insisted on what I think. I failed to read between the lines and kept to my rationalization. I see now that when you trust, you have to let it go enough to enable it to move about on its own and fulfill what it has to fulfill. I am such a control freak cloaked by a facade of not giving a damn and leaving things be.

We’ll never meet. I chose to be better, you chose to be worse and make the most of your ever failing situation.
Change is inevitable. The “for the better” or “for the worse” part is a choice.
I pity you already, you’ll never have enough.

What does it mean to be human? Is it the susceptibility to mistakes? Or the things you do and decisions you make after the repercussions? Or something else entirely?
Nobody's perfect. Each deals differently in situations laid out to them.
I don't think it ideal, but wouldn't it be better that after the realizations and atonement [directly and indirectly], to let bygones be bygones and start moving on and make the best from whatever's still left?
06FEB2014_22:14
The story of us is also the story of them and also the story of others and the story of others more. What gives the uniqueness are the decisions and choices each character makes that defines the gravity and depth of how we would live our lives.
What does it mean, to not live in the past?
When I've understood the whole meaning of this, I might be able to write freely again. For now, animosities flow while words are stuck somewhere in the oblivion of unconstrained unrest.

Dream. It's the only one that gives comfort right now.
"Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot" - Dream
Dreaming while struggling not to lose grasp of reality to keep myself sane. That's how I've been living for quite some time now.
And for how long? Until I get saved. Until agony is no longer felt. Until I've become indifferent from all these anarchy.
07JAN2014_18:27
I opened my eyes and thought everything was just a dream. I thought hard of every detail that happened. I would have felt relieved. But I felt something creeping from inside me, and as the pain settled, reality settled as well. Everything's real. And I am left again with not knowing what to do.
There's so much to let out but until I've settled, they all need to be tucked in tight so now my insides are crumbling and I want to break down.

It feels good to be needed and yearned for. Not in a selfish kind of way, but more of you're the one that is wanted. My igghy, right now, is at that phase. And I do pray it would last a lifetime. These kinds of feelings cannot truly be justified by words, no matter how good the selection.
24NOV2013_22:34
At some point in our lives, it feels good that there's someone you could go home to. Be it for a while or for good, nothing beats the feeling of being able to bare naked. Not everyone gets to have that privilege. You'd be one of the luckiest to have found one, and the most mongrel of all to lose one. It's one of my dreams. Dream that has not yet been fulfilled and [lucky me, I guess], a dream that has not yet been destroyed. But not sure how lucky for until now, it's still a dream, living in hope that it could be fulfilled. For not all dreams could be sought by will, there are still those that only fate could give. So as the poem goes [Bettie Young], I keep my paintbrush with me as protection from others and from myself.

Do I want to remember everything or do I want to forget? I can't seem to make up my mind. One minute it hurts a lot that I can't breath and wishes everything to go away. The next minute it's hurting more that I wish them to stay. Which is worse? To have not experienced, to have not any memory? Or to have everything remembered and the pain spiking every now and then? I'm not perfect, not as strong as I think. I lost. I got to forget. Then, irony. Like a puppet pulled by invisible strings, I moved. Then de ja vu. and here we are again, in each other's lives. - on eternal sunshine of the spotless mind: "How happy is the blameless vestal's lot? The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. Each pray'r accepted and each wish resigned." - Alexander Pope

"If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger." It didn't go "exactly" the same for me. But the "strangeness" I could somehow relate to. The feeling is so empty. Despite friends, family, and acquaintances, everything's just in disarray. Like they do not connect in and to any point. You just feel so lost and alone. And though you try to search, or not... it just isn't there. [ And I remember... "para encontrarme a mi mismo en otra persona" --- if I'm deciphering right, I think I could empathize ] I guess I could say that my world is now full of strangers. Things can still be set to right [ I think.. or not ]. Still, I have this feeling that it will never be enough. Or yeah, the pieces fit right, but they are just off. Out of place. That until that something comes back [ or comes, if it hasn't arrived yet ], everything is just off.
