RIVERDALE | 7.19: The Golden Age of Television
Betty Cooper & Jughead Jones on RIverdale 7.03
Three Days of So-Called Peace, Love, and Music. Or, How We Came to Loathe Camping
Here it is—the fic that was promised!
*********************************
Summary: Betty and Jughead find themselves talked into going to Woodstock ‘99. A whole lot of awkwardness ensues. Unrequited love that isn’t so unrequited after all.
Notes: This work is the result of a collaboration between @middleagedresidentofriverdale (lady_grey_reborn on AO3) and myself. One of us might have found themselves in a very similar position to Betty and Jughead back in July 1999. Fortunately, the affected author did not encounter any of the worst aspects of the event. It was just hot and kind of gross and resulted in a lifelong aversion to camping and portable toilets. This story reflects this lighter side of the experience, though with some grossness alleviated due to loopholes provided by Veronica Lodge and Cheryl Blossom.
Note that each chapter is named after one of the songs from the actual event setlist. The title selections are only meant to set a general mood, and have nothing to do with the songs’ overall lyrics/meanings or reflect the actual musical preferences of the authors. :)
Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge in Chapter 118: Don’t Worry, Darling.
you don't care anymore but after that little interview from Betty saying ba will be fed do you think we all should cut bait now
her interview with entertainment weekly? sam highfill has always been b*rchie’s #1 fan so of course she would ask about them (and of course lili is going to answer too). just a little background - she’s also the same person who asked about ba back in s2 and roberto told her she should tune into 214 🤷🏻♀️
tbh, i’ll need to see more than one snippet to decide if i want to watch or not. i do think, though, that it won’t be so heavily one sided towards ba and i wouldn’t be surprised if roberto is out promoting both sides of the triangle EQUALLY and won’t be leaning one way or another.
It may sound abnormal, but there are some people who just have this innate attraction to the darker, more taboo side of life.
or the moment it became canon Betty is Bored™ in bed with Archie #WE BEEN KNEW
Greatest couple 🥹❤️
wish i could go back in time and join everyone who left the fandom after 4x16.
but once you’ve said “i love you,” your kisses have a different taste
i feel like i win when i lose, chapter two
Betty pauses. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to suggest that discovering my shitty boyfriend was cheating on me was somehow on the same level as your divorce –”
“Christ, no. Yours sounds worse,” Jughead says. “At least ours was mutual.”
“Well, I got very drunk and did some very dumb things in the aftermath, so.” Betty gives him a rueful grin. “I can relate.”
He’s sort of dying to know what someone like Betty Cooper means by “very dumb things,” especially in that particular context, but before he can ask, the organ starts to play.
(Jughead is recently divorced, and he keeps running into Betty Cooper at weddings. AU.)
read it on ao3. (or start from the beginning.)
I gotta be honest I gave up on riverdale a long time ago and sometimes pop up here to see what’s going on (and don’t get me wrong I’m not a fan of the podcast myself) but I personally think that there’s no correlation between bughead on the show and what was said on the podcast. The sad truth is that those producers are shit and I don’t really think they care about the cast’s personal lives (as we were hinted by some of the cast in interviews), so I think that the personal drama is separated from the poor decisions the producers make. After all they did the cheating storyline when Lili and Cole were together so I think the producers at this point don’t give a fuck about the cast or about the viewers.
Sorry for any mistakes English is not my native tongue it just that since yesterday I saw a lot of blogs saying that the podcast means that there’s no hope for bughead but I really don’t think we can make anything out of it.
Anyways sorry for my rant🤦🏾♀️, I love your blog and I wish you a great day!🌸❤️
Aww you're so sweet. And your English is great and I wouldn't have even known if you didn't say something! But I agree with you, the producers are awful and they will always be the biggest threat to the story, not the actors themselves.
I just want the show to end so everyone can be free and move on.
i heard a lot of people saying that bughead will just get together at the very last episode but with little scenes together
i don't have any idea what their story does or would look like. i've been working a lot recently and haven't been paying attention to bts. my interest in the show is at an all time low if im honest.
