This one made it a lot farther. I’m like, kind of attached to certain parts and less attached to others. General gist is narrator trying to reconcile being supportive of a changing relationship with a close friend who is undergoing major life changes with an affinity for the way the friend and the relationship was in the past.

v1 If I ask you to be someone will you play along? Or will you stand up for the someone I knew you once to be? The dreams in your head, they can’t be gone not while I’m still here to hold them in place So close your eyes and dream them back and just remember when I used to say ch Wait for me Stay for me You never have to ask me to run Take my hand Take a stand We might just make it, let’s just wait and see Try as I might I’ll never shake you Just as long as you know we’ll be okay ~~~ One other partial stanza that came from this that never made it in - Stuck in the place where you left yourself hanging I’ve been here before You cut me down from the same old tree

Enjoy the complete lyrics to a song I wrote with @buildyoursound! It started out as her Lyric Fragment #5, and several iterations later, here we are. I can’t wait to hear the track!

i do like the end a whole lot, though i have an idea; perhaps the narrator switches it up at the end so it’s like a ‘we’re in this together’ sort of situation:
