Austin wasn’t just gonna start berating the guy just because he made an honest mistake. It happened to everybody. “Oh, no. This place is way too small for something like that. It’s just archery. It’s my only real selling point, honestly. I don’t know too much about running an entire business.”

Theo walked around the store, looking at the arrows and some of the bows that were on display. ‘’ I have never been into an archery type of store before but I do have to admit a lot of the stuff is impressive and pretty cool.’’ Theo nodded understanding that.’’ I guess it is, do you offer archery lessons?’’

He couldn’t help but be a little confused. He tried to have a lot of the things people would want but plant fertilizer wasn’t anything he ever thought to have. “Umm….I think you might be in the wrong place. This is an archery supply store, not like a regular grocery store.” There were plenty of places where he could get fertilizer but this wasn’t one of those places.

Theo turned and looked at the sign, indeed it was a archery store. Theo scratched the back of his head really embarrassed at this point. ‘’ Oh I am really sorry, I thought you just sold about anything like a store does.’’ Theo finally recognized all bows and archery stuff. Man he felt stupid.

“Well, do you have any experience in archery? If you have some experienced, I’d recommend some of the more intricate bows. If you’re more of a beginner, I’d suggest getting something of the simpler variety.”

Theo titled head to the side a bit. ‘’ Archery? I don’t really do archery and I don’t think plan on doing it, anytime soon either.’’ He stated, not sure if that came off a little bit rude but it was surely the truth. ‘’ Do you have any like plant fertilizer?’’ He’d asked, not sure if this was that type of store. Even though he could make his own, it was nice to buy stuff from stores once and a while. Just  to support them.

  He smiled up at the other male, “Nice to meet you Theo.” he began. The other was being extremely kind and to be honest he wasn’t used to it. He was used to either people being brutally honest with him and then their were the people that were just trying to kiss his ass so that they could get their art shown in the gallery. But, he could tell that this man was being honest.

‘’ You too.’’ Theo was pretty shocked such a young guy owns and run this place on his own. He still has stuff that helps him but it is still pretty impressive. ‘’ I didn’t aspect such a young guy like yourself, I really was expecting an old guy. I have to say I am really impressed.’’

Marine Curiosity

  “I’m serious, I was too crazy for my own good.” he said to the other man. “I used to scare the crap out of my parents when I would just float in the ocean, it made them think that I had hit my head on a rock and now I was dead or something.” he explained to the other. “It was always fun to hear my mom screaming my name from the shore until I swayed my arm at her to tell her to go away.” he laughed. He tilted his head, “Thank you?” he said to Theo.

Theo chuckled ‘’I can’t really vision you doing that.’’ Theo was a little star struck, hearing the man explain how crazy he was as a kid. ‘’ Wow I guess your parents didn’t really take you out very much.’’ He’d teased.  ‘’ Your welcome.’’ He’d grinned.

“Take your time. I’m not going anywhere any time soon.” He couldn’t help but laugh a little at his own joke. He was a sucker for his own terrible jokes. It was a weakness of his. He tried to stock up on what he assumed people would like. He didn’t want his first ever customers to be turned away

Theo shook his head at the joke and chuckled a little. It was pretty bad but at least he tried. Theo likes jokes so he wouldn’t judge ‘’ I am not sure what I am really looking for actually. ‘’ Do you have anything you recommend?’’

He smiled at the other man, “Thank you, Uh..?” he continued as if he were waiting for the other man to insert his name for him. “I don’t know maybe because I don’t know if I would get in here if I didn’t own the building.” he said to the other man as he crossed his arms across his chest. “You’re sweet though, for saying those things.” he said with a smile.

‘’ No problem and it's Theo.’’ He chuckled reaching his hand out for the man to grab. They seem to do this a lot in eastern or I think western cultures, not sure where exactly it came from. But in his culture, they kissed on both side of the cheek, despite what gender you are.  ‘’ Oh you own the building? Well, I think you would even if you didn’t, you have to give yourself more credit. You're amazing.’’

    “No worries.  Sometimes you feel like you have to continue what you have been doing if you have done it for years.  And I get it, I feel like I can’t stop what I want to do.  When you find something you are good at, why quit it?” he responded.  Eyes glanced over at the man and nodded.  Harper smiled at the response.  “That is very true.”

‘’ That is true, sometimes I feel like I deserve more than being a simple farmer but I can’t just simply give it up. ‘’ he sighs and sipped the last bit of coffee in his cup and let out a little sigh. Ruffling his own hair, not trying to get any pieces of hair flying everywhere.  ‘’ So you do like working for the mayor? I bet it much more fun than being a farmer.’’ Returning the smile.

     “Would you, happen to be Theo? My office got a call about a barn that recently lost power, and I was told to meet the owner, Theo. I’m not going to lie, this land is so huge, I got lost twice.” The electrician chuckled out as he looked at the other with soft, sincere eyes and a smile to match.

Theo opened the door to his house, hearing a knock on the door a few minutes ago.  ‘’ Yes I am Theo. What can I do for you?’’ Theo forgot for a split second that he called for an electrician to fix his light in the barn since it wasn’t working even when he’d switched the light out. Theo scratched the back of his head, ‘’ Yeah it is pretty big if you got lost you could have called me or something.’’

  He nodded, “Yeah, I totally get where you’re coming from. When I was younger I was so loud and obnoxious and then I got to college and that really buckled me down and I became more quiet and reserved. Until recently, as well.” he added. He what Theo was feeling and could sympathize with him. “A lot of the main landers don’t care because they don’t live here on the island they just come to get away from their homes. Which sucks, but I guess what can you do about it y’know?”

Theo could hold in his laugh hearing the guy, saying he was obnoxious and loud. He knows that kind of people very well. The majority of his classmates when he was younger were like that. ‘’ I can’t really see you like that but I kinda can. I am glad you toned down a little bit. You are much more likable the way you are now.’’ Theo said, not trying sound rude or anything.  Theo nodded ‘’ Yeah I can see that I am not originally from her obviously but I do want to take care of this place because it's my home now. I say we kick all those kind of people out of the island.’’ He smirked.

    “That’s true.  You’re a very important guy.  But you can’t be the only one that does all the farming around here,” Harper smiled.  “Well, if you weren’t a farmer, what else could you possibly do?” he asked.  “Aww thanks.  But what if we have different issues.  You don’t quite know me,” Harper teased.  “Thanks though.”

Theo chuckled ‘’ Yeah thanks, I appreciate that. Yeah, I am not but it would be very stressful for that one farm to bring all the goods. I guess it sounds like I am making excuses but I guess I just need to  continue.’’ He’d shrugged, he hadn’t thought about what else he could do. ‘’ I am not sure, never thought about it. ‘’ Theo smiled ‘’ Maybe we would and there a chance we would but it’s a long time from now until then we could have similar views as well, you’re welcome.’’

      “I’m sorry about that,” he stated.  “Perhaps you should give your life a shot.  Unless you actually like being a farmer.  I mean we all have different interest, so I get it,” he chuckled.  Harper took a sip of his own coffee and then glanced up at the other.  “Yea, it’s alright,” he smiled.  “I finally graduated and got my masters, so I’m just working until a better job comes along, like running for mayor in the future,” he smiled.

Theo gave a man a short shrug. ‘’ I don’t mind really, I mean If I closed down my farm. The islanders would have a lack of fresh fruit and vegetables. Plus milk. I Think I have a duty. Bigger than me being lazy.’’ He laughed to himself softly before taking another sip. ‘’ Oh wow that’s cool, I would definitely vote for you if you ever ran for mayor, you seem like you would be a good one anyway. At least to me.’’

   “Ever thought of doing a different profession?  Or is this something that you were placed in from birth and just can’t get out?” Harper asked, wondering of the other.  “Yea, I’m definitely no farmer.  I work for the mayor.”

‘’ yeah I have thought about it but its like I am caged in.’’ Theo nodded, I guess he already knows what it feels like or it was just a really lucky guess. ‘’ Yeah I was placed in it, my father and mother were farmers so I guess it kinda stuck with me.’’ Theo's eyes widen a bit as reached down to sip on the hot coffee.  Shivering at the bitter taste. ‘’ Oh really, that’s cool.’’

    “So you’re a farmer?” Harper responded.  “That’s interesting.  So I guess the coffee is a go,” he smiled.  Eyes wandered and went towards the front counter.  He ordered two coffee’s and returned to the man, giving one to the other.  “There you are,” he smiled.

‘’ Yeah I am’’ he smiles and nods.  ‘’ Yeah I guess it is but sometimes it's get tiring. Sometimes I just want lay in bed all day.’’ Theo grabbed the coffee cup. ‘’ Thank you, so what about you. I bet you do much more interesting than my farming job?’’

    “It’s quite alright.  Long morning?  Why?  What have you been up to?” Harper chuckled.  “Need coffee or something?” he asked.

Theo let out a little sigh ‘’ Yeah I had to get up to feed the animals and such on the farm. Plus I have to water the crops and plow, stuff like that.’’ Theo's eyebrows perked up a little bit at the word coffee. ‘’ I guess coffee would be ok.’’

“So, maybe it’s just me, but I’m pretty sure you were checking me out,” Harper smirked.  “If I’m wrong, my mistake.  But I’m sure I’m right here.”

Theo chuckled and shrugged, I guess he has been caught. Maybe he’s been looking at him  a bit too long.  ‘’ Yeah I guess I was, sorry.  Plus I was daydreaming too. It's been a long morning for me.’’

 He grinned and then looked down, “No, this is the only one for right now.” he said as he looked back up. He hadn’t really shown his art since that night that he was with his art instructor. It left a mark on him, not a mark, more like a block. He felt so insecure about his art now so he only works on his stuff privately. “No, I used to but..” he began, “I don’t anymore.” he let out a small sigh.

’ Oh really? Well, I think its pretty good, you show more. I bet a lot of your fans would buy it and look forward to seeing more of your art.’’ Theo really appreciated his art and really respected artist. ‘’ Why do you feel that way, your freaking amazing artist man. I bet a lot of people are jealous of your amazing talent.  I know I am. You should show it off.’’ Trying to encourage him.
