All it takes is one holiday special to make me spiral back into my Trolls obsession, huh.

Spring boarding off this to ask: are TTBGO and Trollstopia necessary viewing? I watched the first season of TTBGO when it originally came out and wasn’t the biggest fan, if I’m being completely honest. I also considered it more of a spin-off/“non-canon” to the actual movies. But because characters from the series appeared in the recent holiday special, I’m wondering how much the line separating them is going to blur in the future, if they do. I’d rather not watch them if I can get away with it.

Also I need more active Trolls-focused blogs to follow.

I don’t know how likely this is, but with the new series occurring after the events of World Tour being called “TrollsTopia”, I wonder if all the different Trolls will integrate into a singular location somewhat. The movie’s main message seems to be inclusivity, so I don’t think it’d be too far fetched. Would definitely make things interesting.

Adding onto this: I’m speculating that we’ll learn the “true history of the Strings” from the Funk Trolls. What if all the different Trolls had lived together at one time, in one central utopian kingdom, ruled over by a council made up of leaders from each tribe?

I can see the movie concluding with them returning to such a diverse and harmonious community after overcoming conflict, if true - but also I want to see the shenanigans that come with all the different Trolls living together.

I think it’d be interesting for a piece of Branch’s character arc in the movie to focus on how he’s trying to change or conform himself to what he believes will best please Poppy and that, ultimately, he shouldn’t because he is who he is. I think it’s something Poppy is going to have to learn to accept about him as well, and stop pushing him to be a typical sweet and passive Troll.

I’d like a little Branch and Poppy emotional conflict, as a treat.

The moment Poppy smiled before throwing away the weapones reminded me of the first movie when Branch threw her instrament into the fire. I think she mostly did it because of that. XD

I wish there were subtitles on that hot air balloon clip because I need to know, with precise certainty, what Branch and Poppy’s little nicknames are for each other and how they’re meant to be spelled. 

I’m also wondering if it’s something they genuinely call each other or just some little running gag in the movie. Like some cute/silly names Poppy comes up with on a whim and Branch goes along with because he’s trying his hardest to “turn a new leaf” and be a happier Troll in attempts to please Poppy. 🤔

Their nicknames are “Branchifer” and “Poppyfer”! And yes, I’m glad you liked the clip! At least you can understand what they’re saying even though without subtitles!

It sounds like that for sure, but I’m going to wait to see an official spelling before I commit to referencing the nicknames! I keep second-guessing like, “what if it’s fur instead of fer? Or Poppifur instead of Poppyfur?”, haha.

Admittedly, I’m pretty confident at this point that the movie is going to stomp on my thoughts re: friends with benefits Broppy, but who cares, right? As long as there is some fanfic goodness to go around, then all is well.

Oh, I’m sure they’ll become an official couple. Dreamworks would not have given us such a clear hint about the development of this love line if they were going to leave them only as friends 🥰

@eva-93: Definitely. My assumption is that “Trolls Wanna Have a Good Time” is the opening number similar to how “Move Your Feet/D.A.N.C.E.” was for the first movie, and it’s going to help set up/clue the audience in on some character points for the film’s run. Such as how Poppy is a queen who wants to do “everything right” which will become an emotional struggle for her once Barb is brought into the picture, I’m sure; and then Branch who will have various screen time dedicated to his attempts at voicing his feelings for Poppy since he “just needs the guts to tell her that she’s the one”. 

I’m inclined to believe they’re already an item of sorts and Branch is wanting to propose, but it’ll be exciting to find out for sure once the movie comes out.
