[A BIT ABOUT THE MUN] Pronouns: She/They I am a 38 year old First Nation's woman, from both the Cherokee Nation & Hopi tribe. My goal on here is to give Native American muses a voice, & possibly, if my writing partner is on-board with it, to call attention to issues that Native Americans struggle with.

I, Naki of @valkyrthra, declare a nið, challenge those who have been picking ᚾᛁᚦ apart my friends, family & community here on tumblr. A nið, in old Norse / Viking culture, was a declaration of a Flyting Senna. Let's see how good your knowledge is to pick a part people's knowledge of the Sagas, stories, lore & mythos fairs again me, since you seem so proud of your knowledge of the Norse Mythologies that you feel the need to come on to other's blogs & nitpick minor details. Details that you corrected that didn't needed correcting, factually, regardless of IF the muse was altered for someone's own universe that you have ZERO say in. You in the cases that I am aware of, you have been factually WRONG.

-Flyting for those who do not know. Flyting or fliting (Classical Gaelic: immarbág, Irish: iomarbháigh, lit. "counter-boasting") is a contest consisting of the exchange of insults between two parties, often conducted in verse. (Wiki) Or in other words a battle of wits & insults using poems. In other words, & this is NOT my words but still describes it pretty well, its a Viking Rap battle.

Okay by the rules flyting, I have declared a challenge, now to issue ᚠᛚᛁᛏᛁᛜ the terms. The rules of the dual are

That it has to be poetry done in HISTORICAL Viking metrical principles, but in English.

It has to rhyme at least every other half line.

Insults to each other are accepted & in the true spirit of flyting is encouraged.

You can keep your anon status, my anons will be off, but you will be considered dishonorable by Viking cultural rules. If you chose to stay on anons then I will be posting the responses. You may do the same.

We will each do one Ljóðaháttr (ᛚᛃᛟᚦᚨᚺᚨᛏᛏᚱ), song meter, consisting of two sets of 3 lines but the first two lines are half lines. camila liked to let loose. she hadn't been much of a partier in college because she'd been too busy working her ass off for her degree. still, she had that 'barrel racer crazy' streak in her. she loved adrenaline, she loved dancing and letting loose to an acceptable degree after work. that was why she was here now, she wanted to get a drink, maybe dance a little and enjoy the fact that she didn't have to get up first thing in the morning.

she walked over to the juke box, fishing out a few quarters from her pocket as she walked. there was someone standing in front of the bulletin board that she didn't recognize. while she didn't know everyone from in and around bozeman, considering almost everyone had animals and she'd been on the rodeo circuit, she knew a lot of people. she was certain she wasn't familiar with this woman. "looking for something?" cami asked, standing next to the woman and looking between her and the board. she hoped she didn't sound suspicious, she'd just never seen someone studying the board that intently.

From what the Lakota wikte could see there wasn't much on the board that would help her. Nothing that looked hinky or like a trap, but no missing person's poster either. Kalí barely noticed the person that came up to her & addressed her. Startled she jumped a little, until her brain registered what the new comer asked her.

"Yeah. It's a long story, but the short is that this is my job. I look for sign's of missing persons posters & the like. Anythin that seems hinky. Anything that could help me find some of these people." Kalí hated having to explain her job to people. The job was so grime a lot of the time, the subject one that most didn't like talking about. It made them uncomfortable.

Kalí took her black cowboy hat off & scratched the back of her head with the same hand that held her hat, chuckling. Her face showing her embarrassment at her description.

"Hey sorry bout the grime subject. Not really somethin ya expect someone t' say when ya approach them in a place like this, is it?" Kalí chuckled nervously. "I'm Kalí" The Lakota wikte held her hand out.

Anyone   who   had   seen   Anya   ride   would   say   she   had   nothing   to   worry   about.   But   less   than   a   year   of   learning   how   to   ride   was   NOT   a   sufficient   amount   of   time   to   be   considered   an   experience   rider.   Natural   at   it   or   not   ,   she   didn't   think   she   was   at   the   caliber   to   be   RACING   horses.   The   problem   with   Anya   ,   was   that   if   there   was   something   Anya   could   prove   herself   in   ,   she   was   damn   near   compelled   to   show   the   world   what   they   were   capable   of.

❝   Yeah   ,   simple   …   Right.   ❞    She'd   done   this   plenty   of   times   while   learning   on   the   ranch.   Freaking   out   like   she   was   going   to   make   a   fool   of   herself   ,   when   all   she   really   needed   to   do   was   RELAX.   Eyes   looked   back   over   the   track   one   more   time   while   her   hands   adjusted   the   reigns   one   more   time   in   her   hands.   Atomic   ,   sensing   her   hands   working   the   reigns   over   ,   began   stomping   at   the   ground   with   a   grunt   like   noise.   At   least   one   of   the   two   of   them   was   ready   to   get   this   show   on   the   road   so   to   speak.

That   was   enough   to   bring   a   smile   to   the   brunette's   features.   Giving   him   a   pat   on   his   shoulder   before   looking   back   to   Kali.   One   thing   was   for   certain   ,   this   was   definitely   going   to   be   interesting.    ❝   Care   t'count   us   off   then?   Before   I   psych   myself   out   of   this   &   disappoint   this   speed   demon   here?   ❞

A bubbling laugh came out of Kalí's mouth as she heard the nervousness in Anya's tone.

"Just breathe, girl. You a badass BI-atch. You CAN do this." Kalí's tone was calm, & kind as she tried to encourage her friend, a smile to top it off. A smile that turned to a mischievous smirk as Kalí turned to get on her own horse. Preparing for the race. She KNEW Anya would do more than just fine. Anya's learning curb was amazing, Kalí had no doubt that Anya may actually beat Kalí.

Once Kalí got up onto the blanketed back of her horse, she wiggled a bit to find that comfortable spot, or as comfortable spot as could be found, then leaning forward, looking over at Anya, with that same smirk.

"A'right, betch'ya can't beat me t' th' first tree." The Lakota wikte taunted at Anya, with a smile, the tone was a fun teasing to incite Anya to the challenge. Anya asked for the count down & Kalí nodded back in affirmation.

"Countin down from five. Ya ready, Wakíŋyaŋ?" Kalí smiling waited for Anya to let Kalí know that she was ready. When the Anya let the Lakota wikte know that she was ready Kalí began counting. "FIVE....." "FOUR..." "THREE..." "TWO.." "ONE.....GO!!" And they were off.

The Two-spirited Lakota, known as Kali Dances with Fire, had to start somewhere for her mission of finding the missing indigenous, & the assholes that made them go missing, or worse murder them. Then leaving their bodies in some disrespectful place, dehumanizing them further. Further than the way, that the world that the colonizers had crafted, already saw Native Americans, as lesser, less civilized or even still primitive. Some non-native think that the people of the First Nations still live in teepees, or that ALL Native American tribes live in teepee, which is NOT the case, or that the tribes all have one language & culture. Kali's haŋbléčeyapi, the Lakota word for what some would say is her 'calling' , was to to find bring justice for the First Nations of Turtle Island & to bring home those who have been lost by the evil that came from those that were not from the reservations. Kali didn't hate white people, she didn't trust them though, not after hearing the stories of what happened to her grandparents, the parents of her mother & her uncle Mo Bring's Plenty. Speaking of Kali's uncle Mo, he was the reason that Kali was in Montana, living on the Apsáalooke-Crow reservation known as Broken Rock. Kali was training under her uncle Mo, having been following in his footsteps her whole life. Joining the Army Rangers as sharpshooter, tracker, & recon expert then going on to get her private investigator license, now Kali Dances with Fire was here following her uncle Mo around learning his job as bodyguard of the Chairman of Broken Rock Chief Thomas Rainwater. When Kali was not following Mo around, learning his trade & anything else the elder warrior wanted to teach his niece, she would search the towns of the reservation & the nearby towns off the rez, for clues to finding the missing people of Broken Rock. This such search brought Kali to a bar in Paradise Valley. Kali walked into this older dingy, cowboy dive bar looking around, taking in all the little knickknacks that lined the walls, the old jukebox in the corner with a pin board with flyers. Bingo! That's where Kali headed, looking for any missing person's posters, or anything that may seem hinky like bait. The bait angle was unlikely but it did happen, usually though people were just picked up while broken down on the side of the road, or hiking from their place into town.

The one nice thing about being here SO FAR , had been that nobody seemed to know who any of her family were. Most of them at least. Now that Kayce knew WHO , they couldn't shake the idea that all eyes were on them. That anxiety only growing STRONGER as reinforcements started coming in to lead the charge to bring Tate home. She knew the look someone gave when they recognized her father's features in her own , that same look she saw in the man who showed up from reservation. She knew he was military , turned out he was the kind of military that they were forced to go up against. Standing at the fence railing , facing away from the lodge , a hand reached to hold the star of david necklace hanging round their neck. Jaw clenched tightly in attempt to stop her heart from pounding. - to mo. (set right before they go to the house tate is being kept at.)

This was an important moment, trying to get back a kidnapped young boy from the Broken Rock Reservation, from the Apsáalooke tribe of Montana & son of some people that Mo cared about. Even if they were part of a family that was in direct opposition to his boss, Thomas Rainwater, in most instances. The family was the Duttons, the parents were Kayce Dutton & his wife Monica Long, of the Apsáalooke tribe, & the boy that Mo was here to help save with Kayce Dutton, was named Tate Dutton. They were meeting at this location, which was where the group of white-supremacists' were holed up, & hopefully where the young Dutton was being held, or at the very least some information on where he was. Once every was there, they would be raiding the house, & Mo would be blessing a horse for someone to use as a distraction, with someone willing enough to be said distraction, being potentially being shot at & with being shot at they could be sent to see The Great Spirit to deal with these people that are tainted by their deeds.

A few trucks pulled up, Kayce getting out of one of them, along with someone that Mo didn't know but recognized none the less, even if the old warrior didn't know WHY he knew this woman. She appeared to be about the same age as the Kayce, the woman also had the same eyes as Kayce, & the same eyes as Mo. The eyes that have seen many horrific things, things that no person should see, let alone in their youth, & these two still had a lot of life to live, if they were smart that is. Mo looked back over his shoulder at the location that they were about to raid. This was NOT considered smart. Mo looked over to the horse trailer, where the horse that he would soon be blessing & sighed. THIS plan was also not very smart for whoever was the bait, hopefully it wasn't Kayce. Or this lady friend of the wolf Dutton.

WHY did this woman look so familiar? Mo wracked his brain trying to remember. She was too young to have been someone that Mo had seen while in his time in the U.S. Military. Mo stared at Anya trying to focus is mind & his memories. Mo could see that she at the very least could tell that he recognized her. She was twirling her necklace. Anxiety? No. Not anxiety, preparation? No it was something else. Either way Mo didn't want to distract her from the task in front of them. Mo would figure it out, it might take him some time but he would. There is no doubt in Mo's mind about that but right now is was NOT the time. Mo approached Kayce & Anya as casually as he could, there was a reason that Kayce brought this woman who had seen demons in her youth, she had a purpose, so it would be good for Mo to not give her any reasons to lose focus.

"Kayce, the intel says the militia is here. Who's going to be the bait?"
