This is what I was greeted with at 7.30am...
Bunnies ate my Christmas tree...
It has been one whole year since we brought home Lyra and Florence (formally known as Mumford and Noah...thanks PAH :/ ). What a year....it's funny to look back and see what rookie mistakes we made as first time house bunny owners! (Sawdust in a flat? What were we thinking???) It's been a year of laughter, frustration, education and replacement of countless wires.... and now we are expecting our first baby (human, that is...!). Two Buns and a Baby...:)
Summer school was too much fun today....! (Taken with Instagram)
So true....
I'm having such a hoppy birthday so far....! (Taken with Instagram)

*sigh* I knew that in the UK that we were not completely rabbit savvy yet….but only 8% of owners knew the right foods to feed their rabbits? Seriously? Buy a book! Research on the Internet! Read a blog…!
This is not even the most shocking part for me. What saddens me most is that only 2 out of 5 owners realised that their buns are intelligent and needed mental stimulation. Many didn’t know that rabbits need daily exercise- it makes me so mad to think of all the buns squashed into hutches all year long, with minimal human contact. Rabbits may not like to be picked up, but mine love nothing more than lay beside me and listen to my voice whilst I chat in the phone! They adore a loving human voice, and love to be near you ( mine even follow me to the bathroom..!)
A hutch is not enough!
We've got 99 problems but the hutch ain't one...
Sharing my flat with two bunnies....
It's no easy task...I've made it up as I went along, and have been through many different layouts before settling in this one....see photo below They have a large space of my living/kitchen area which belongs to them- marked out by a large child's play mat (the kind you whizz cars over and such), filled with endless toys and the oh so important cardboard box. ( we splashed out on a castle, but it's the cardboard they love no matter it's shape!) . A hideout is very important to a rabbit, and I never ever go into their or put my hands into the box. Their whole area is boarded by a puppy play pen, with an entrance and exit so they are free to come and go. This makes them feel as though the space is "theirs" and I only enter to feed and clean. This is the best set up so far, they feel safe and secure with the pen and it's makes them much tidier as they don't feel the need to mark my areas of the flat with droppings and their toys....! So, currently, we are co-existing well in some kind of bunny/human hybrid habitat. And it suits us well....
