I've been listening to some religion and science denial debate channels while I crochet, and today I listened to this one new video from Planet Peterson where he was talking about a bunch of nothing really, with this guy who claims to be Orthodox. And I kind of assume that he means the Eastern Orthodox church.

And this guy makes me really irritated. Because he seems to me, like the least Eastern Orthodox person ever, and talks about this particular religion and it's philosophy so confidently, like he was a priest or something. It's so irritating, even tho I've left the Eastern Orthodox church myself, I feel like please gtfo of my church.

I now understand Muslims and I guess other Christians too, when they say that the loud minority don't represent them. I honestly feel like these types of assholes are ruining the sanctity of my cultural heritage.

That being said. All the major religions are already screwed from trying to cling to ancient belief systems and base their morality from them while trying to fit in to the modern society.

Picked a little bit of berries today. Wild raspberries, currants, cherries and honeysuckle. And a a couple of wild strawberries. The mosquitoes finally found me.

There were guys on my berries.

Made a lil' monkey

My finger pain has eased up and I've learned to not grip so hard onto the hook and the yarn. Although when I'm being really lazy and trying to crochet while lying on my back, then my hands start to hurt lol.

I've been learning some techniques, so I managed to make this completely from my own head now! Made all of the parts starting with a magic ring, except the tail is just a long chain with the end part made to curl, by skipping some stitches while making slip stitches along the chain.

Today the urgent procedure for Chat Control 1.0 was passed. EU parliament is voting Thursday for Chat control

“If Chat Control passes: your messages, pictures, videos will all be scanned because the law will require it - this removes privacy and welcomes mass surveillance in the EU.”

“In March, it was voted against, but it's back and it was pushed through via urgent procedure.”

“The vote for the urgent procedure was “331 in favor. 304 against. 11 abstentions.”

“This changes the rules of the vote (of course to be in favour of chat control).

Shockingly, blocking it now requires absolute  majority 361 out of the Parliament's 720 members, to be rejected.”

People who don’t vote are counted as YES

This was done tactically by these people, as it’s almost summer break and that means it’ll be harder to have people there and less people will be paying attention

Art Fight

An art gifting game

I'm kind of doing Art Fight, or at least I'm checking all the attacks made of my characters.

I'm not feeling so good, so I'm not sure if I will be able to do lots of "revenge" art, but those are all I'm going to draw if anything.

My characters are really simple, so they get attacked a lot and put into all sorts of mass attack group pics, especially my little "Para."

If you do an art attack for me, you can put a little greeting in the description or hidden message where you tell me that you're from Tumblr, so I will prioritize revenging your attack.

I once went to this local skeptic convention, and it had a magic show, and I was asked to come to the stage, probably because I was the only young woman in the whole audience.

It was horrifying. I didn't know what was going on, but I guess that the magician did a magic trick, because the audience all laughed and clapped, and then he gave me a bent fork as a souvenir.

My brother was also there with me. I had asked him to come, because I didn't want to go alone, but I was the one nerdy enough to actually be interested to go to a skeptic convention.

My brother told me that he saw the other magician who was there, (who was also supposed to be some kind of "mentalist"), secretly point towards me when the performing magician was looking for stooges for his act.

I wonder about their reasoning really. Did they think I was going to be like the most normal person in the audience or something? That I would go along with the act the easiest.

Anyway I hated it. And I still think about it today. I lost the fork tho. I also wonder that what the hell was a person calling themselves a mentalist doing there, but maybe he was like a good mentalist... Like someone who exposed grifters because he knew the tricks.

Viljo the absolute unit of a saimaa ringed seal

I spent my morning looking up the articles about this guy from the Finnish newspapers and according to them:

He weighted two times the weight of an average Saimaa ringed seal.

He was also longer than the average seal.

(In 2015 when one of the articles were written,) His living territory was quite small compared to an average Saimaa ringed seal, and he often hung out with another male seal named "Erkki."

He died in 2019 from an infection caused by an intestinal blockage, but he lived a full healthy life and was estimated to had been between 20-30 years old.
