Happy Pride Month! 

As June begins, I’ll be posting some colorful sim edits in honor of Pride, and to celebrate a rainbow of sims. This is done in collaboration with @berrygameplay and in part by the suggestion of @wlwsims4!

I know the last year and half has been hard, in so many ways- but if you are able, this is also a month to give back and support our LGBTQIA+ folks. I’ve listed a few different organizations below. This list is in no way comprehensive and is mostly US focused. 

If you’re interested in giving back, check out below and check your local organizations and programs. I’m sure they could also use the support.

Hey Y’all, In wake of so many terrible things that have happened this year, especially to black people, I think we need to remind ourselves to take care of our mental health. As black people we deal with so much on the daily. whether it be to police brutality or even racial discrimination in the workplace or even the neglect that black women receive in hospitals. These things effect our mental heath in ways many people will not understand. 

According to the Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, Black adults in the U.S. are more likely than white adults to report persistent symptoms of emotional distress, such as sadness, hopelessness, and feeling like everything is an effort. Black adults living below the poverty line are more than twice as likely to report serious psychological distress than those living above it. These can effect you even more if you are black and queer.

Despite the needs, only one in three Black or African American adults who need mental health care receive it. According to the American Psychiatric Association’s Mental Health Facts for African Americans guide, African Americans are:

Less likely to receive guideline-consistent care

Less frequently included in research

​More likely to use emergency rooms or primary care (rather than mental health specialists)

JUSTICE FOR CASEY GOODSON

On December 4th, 2020, Casey Christian Goodson Jr. (23 years old) was shot three times in the back and murdered by a Sheriff’s Deputy as he was entering his home in Columbus, Ohio. Goodson’s family stated that he was returning home from a dentist appointment, holding a Subway sandwich, his face mask, and his keys, when he was shot.

Two days later, the Columbus Police Department made a statement alleging that James Meade, the deputy responsible for Goodson’s death, saw a man believed to be Goodson with a gun while driving. Meade then approached Goodson after he exited his car and walked home, where he was shot.

Hours after the shooting, the US Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, Peter Tobin, confirmed that Goodson was not the fugitive they were searching for. However, Tobin also added that he believed that the shooting was justified, claiming that Goodson was shot after he refused to drop his “weapon.”

Yet another Black man murdered by the police.

DEMAND JUSTICE.

Hairs are fine with me! I love a good hair recolor. If you wanna be really ambitious, I haven’t yet found a good hair for my simself (much less in Noodles Sorbets). Otherwise, anything works for me 💖

Hello! Sorry to bug you, but I noticed you use Meteor Eyes as your defaults and wanted to know which other defaults you use (like in terms of Alien, Vampire, and Mermaid default eyes?) I've been using Elderflower eyes but was always looking for mermaid defaults to use but could never find any, and as Elderflower and Meteor are really similar, I wanted to ask you what you used! Maybe I could use them too, you know?? >.<

Hi nonny! It’s no trouble at all (I love answering questions)!

The short answer is that I don’t...use any 😬, but I’ll put the long answer under the cut...

I haven’t really found any eyes that I love for occults that come in Noodes Sorbets Remix and the Meteor Eyes. In a perfect world, I’d make Meteor Eyes style eyes for all occults but that’s a LOT. So this is what I use...

Vampires: my meteor eye recolors + @pyxiidis​‘s sclera overlays . I also used to use their Demon Eyes, but they just weren’t...cartoonish enough for me? (These are also what I use for creepy mermaids/sirens, demons, etc.)

Aliens: I use plumblob’s MouseyBlue Alien conversions, which are so much better than just the vanilla alien eyes, but also don’t completely match the Meteor eyes :/

In case you’re also wondering other defaults, I use @gerbitshi‘s Silky Soft Skin defaults and overlays (which will probably break soon with the next patch 😭).

Aaaand that’s pretty much it 😬. Tai @noodlescc also has defaults for mermaids, aliens, and (I think) vampires which should be fixed since the last eye patch (....?) so check over there and see if you like ‘em.

Oh you are probably wondering what’s going on? Well, it’s yule season (and other December events too!) and I’m going to post gifts for the 12 days of Yule! It’s just like me to make it a little dark isn’t it! but don’t worry only the edits are spooky! the gifts are not! :D

Well, I don’t want to spoil anything but I have been learning a lot and I wanted to make my first advent special! A super special first day gift, with recolors to follow!
