Trigger warnings: miscommunication, emotional confusion, unintended hurt, emotional vulnerability.

The air in the Emerald City was heavy with tension as Elphaba paced back and forth in her room, trying not to think about the way your smile made her heart race. She had always been good at hiding her feelings, but there was something about you that made it impossible to keep her emotions locked away.
Her best friend, Glinda, had noticed it first. She’d been teasing Elphaba about it for weeks, insisting that the green-skinned witch was "absolutely smitten" with you. Elphaba had denied it at first, but after more and more moments of catching her breath when you were near, she couldn't pretend anymore. The feelings were real. And intense.
Glinda, ever the romantic, had offered some “helpful” advice, though Elphaba wasn’t sure whether to trust her or not.
“Listen, Elphie,” Glinda had said with a grin, “If you want to win someone’s heart, sometimes you have to make them jealous. It’s classic.”
Elphaba had raised an eyebrow. “Jealous? I don’t think that’s the best strategy.”
But Glinda had insisted, practically bubbling with excitement. “Trust me, Elphie! A little jealousy never hurt anyone. Just act like you're into someone else, maybe a little flirtation here and there, and they’ll come around. Works every time!”
Reluctantly, Elphaba had agreed to give it a try. After all, Glinda seemed so confident. And maybe, just maybe, it would work.
The next day, Elphaba found herself sitting across from you in the crowded dining hall. You were talking animatedly about something, completely unaware of the battle waging inside her. She had tried to prepare herself, tried to be casual and confident. But as soon as you looked at her with that warm, kind gaze, her heart skipped a beat.
To her horror, a figure walked in—the charming, flirtatious Fiyero. Elphaba had always known he had a certain charisma, but today… today was different. He walked up to the table, grinning as he leaned casually against it. “Well, well, if it isn’t the green goddess herself. Care to join me for a walk?”
Elphaba felt the words leave her mouth before she could stop them. “Sure, why not?”
Your eyes flickered between them, and Elphaba couldn’t help but notice the brief, almost imperceptible flash of disappointment in your gaze. It made her stomach churn.
“Great!” Fiyero said, not giving you much of a chance to respond. “Lead the way, Elphaba.”
And they left.
Elphaba had tried to enjoy the conversation with Fiyero, but it was no use. Her mind kept drifting back to you, to the way you’d looked when she’d walked away. Was this really the way to make you realize how she felt?
Later that evening, she was back in her room, feeling confused and restless. There was a knock at the door, and when she opened it, there you were, standing with a mix of concern and something else in your eyes.
“Can we talk?” you asked softly, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation.
Elphaba swallowed hard. “Of course. What’s wrong?”
You hesitated, as though choosing your words carefully. “I don’t know what’s going on with you and Fiyero, but… I guess I just didn’t expect you to be so… obvious about it.”
Elphaba’s chest tightened. “What do you mean?”
“You’re trying to make me jealous, aren’t you?” Your voice wasn’t angry, just hurt, and Elphaba felt a pang of guilt she hadn’t expected. “You’re not the kind of person to play games, Elphaba. I thought we were past that.”
Elphaba felt her face flush, and she couldn’t bring herself to meet your eyes. “I… I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just thought… I thought maybe it would help you see…”
“See what?” you interrupted gently. “That you have feelings for me?”
Elphaba nodded, her voice barely a whisper. “Yes. But I didn’t know how else to show you.”
You smiled softly, stepping closer. “You don’t have to try and manipulate me, Elphaba. I already know how I feel. I just needed you to be honest with me.”
Relief flooded her, and she exhaled, finally meeting your gaze. “I’m sorry,” she said, her voice shaky. “I didn’t think it would backfire like that.”
You reached out, taking her hand in yours. “You don’t need anyone else’s advice to know how to make me see you. Just be yourself.”
From that moment on, Elphaba didn’t need to play games anymore. She learned that honesty was the best way to your heart—and that Glinda’s advice, while well-meaning, was a little too dramatic for her taste. But she also realized something important: no matter how complicated or difficult it seemed, she didn’t have to hide her feelings for you any longer.
And when you kissed her for the first time, with no tricks, no schemes, just the two of you, she knew that was the moment she’d been waiting for all along.
Elphaba with a S/O who looks really cutesy and is normally very sweet and soft spoken, but is very protective of Elphaba and angrily stands up for her when they see someone treating her bad:
Elphaba Thropp x gn!reader.
Trigger warnings: mentions of vulnerabilities and marginalising.
Request.
Note: can we appreciate Cynthia voice 🥰 I can hear her singing through this gif!
A Deep Connection: Elphaba is intelligent and introspective, so she'd appreciate deep, meaningful conversations with her girlfriend. Whether it's discussing political philosophy or just venting about the trials of her day, she'd open up to you in a way she doesn’t with others.
Protective Nature: Elphaba has spent much of her life feeling like an outsider, so when she finally finds someone who truly cares for her, she's incredibly protective. She’d always make sure you're safe, even if it means standing up to anyone who might threaten you or your relationship.
Shared Quiet Moments: While Elphaba can be fiery and passionate, she also enjoys moments of calm and solitude. You’d find her curled up with a book or lost in her own thoughts, and you’d often spend time in silence just being with each other. She might even show a rare, soft side when she's in your presence.
Acts of Service Over Words: While Elphaba isn't always expressive with her words, she shows love through actions. She might fix something for you, help you when you're in trouble, or take care of you when you're feeling down. She expresses herself best when she’s doing something for you.
A Complex Sense of Humor: Elphaba might not be the most openly cheerful person, but she has a wry, sharp sense of humor. She might not laugh a lot, but when she does, it’s genuine and likely over some dry, sarcastic comment. You’d quickly learn to appreciate her brand of wit.
Defying Expectations Together: As a couple, you’d likely find yourselves pushing against societal norms together. Whether it’s fighting for justice, advocating for the marginalized, or just rejecting the expectations others have placed on you, Elphaba would love someone who stands beside her in the fight for what’s right.
The Vulnerability You Shared: Despite her tough exterior, Elphaba has a lot of internal struggle with her identity and sense of belonging. Being with you would offer her a sense of acceptance, and she'd slowly learn to open up about her past, her fears, and her insecurities. She might be hesitant at first, but your love would help her heal.
Unlikely Romantic Gestures: Elphaba isn’t one for grand romantic gestures, but she would show her love in unique ways. Maybe she makes you a homemade potion to heal a wound or takes you to a quiet spot where you can both stargaze in peace, away from prying eyes. She values intimacy and personal connections over outward displays.
A Fierce Advocate for Your Dreams: Elphaba believes in standing up for what’s right, and she would absolutely stand behind your goals and dreams, no matter how big or small. If you want to fight for something important, she’d be right by your side, helping you to make your dreams a reality.
First dates.
Pairing: Elphaba Thropp x Reader
Triggers: none! HAPPY WICKED DAY🩷💚
You strolled alongside Elphaba through the quiet halls of the museum, your footsteps echoing softly against the marble floor. The curated exhibits were impressive—artifacts from ancient civilizations, intricate sculptures, and paintings that could capture the soul—but your eyes had trouble staying on any of them for long.
Because there was Elphaba, walking beside you.
Her dark hair cascaded in soft waves over her shoulders, her emerald skin glowing subtly under the museum's warm lighting. She was entirely absorbed, her sharp eyes scanning the intricate hieroglyphs etched into an ancient stone tablet. Occasionally, she’d mumble something brilliant about the history or technique, but you weren’t really paying attention.
How could you, when she was so effortlessly captivating?
You tilted your head, pretending to admire the exhibit while stealing yet another glance at her. She was wearing a simple black dress that suited her perfectly, with a thin scarf tied around her neck. She looked elegant, intellectual, and breathtaking all at once.
“Are you even looking at the tablet?” Elphaba’s voice cut through your thoughts, her tone laced with curiosity. She hadn’t turned to you yet, still focused on the artifact in front of her.
“Uh—yeah,” you stammered, shifting your gaze back to the stone. “Of course.”
She finally turned, her eyes narrowing slightly in playful skepticism. “You’ve been awfully quiet. And you’re standing about two feet away from where you’d need to be to read the inscription.”
Caught. Your cheeks burned as you avoided her gaze, mumbling something about the lighting.
“Elphie, look, it’s just… all this history is amazing, but I think I’m a little… distracted.”
Her eyebrows rose. “Distracted?”
You hesitated, then decided to just say it. “By you.”
A soft flush of green spread across her cheeks as she stared at you, wide-eyed. “By me?” she echoed, her voice almost a whisper.
You shrugged, your smile sheepish but genuine. “I mean, how can I focus on a thousand-year-old tablet when you’re standing right there looking like that?”
Elphaba’s lips twitched, and she quickly turned her head away, pretending to study the artifact again. But she wasn’t fooling anyone; you could see the small smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
“You’re ridiculous,” she murmured, but there was no real bite in her words.
“Am I wrong, though?” you teased, taking a step closer to her.
She sighed dramatically, finally meeting your gaze again. Her eyes sparkled with something soft and warm, the faintest hint of amusement in their depths. “Well, I can’t very well fault you for having excellent taste, can I?”
You laughed, feeling the tension ease. “Not at all.”
For the rest of the afternoon, Elphaba continued guiding you through the exhibits, occasionally throwing out fascinating tidbits about this or that. But every so often, you’d catch her sneaking glances at you too, her expression soft and endearing.
Maybe you weren’t the only one who found something more captivating than the museum’s treasures.

Ted Mosby.
Dating Ted Mosby. (Headcannons)
Dating Ted Mosby Headcannon.
Pairing: Ted Mosby x Reader.
Trigger warnings: nothing really.
“I’m not looking for something casual. I’m looking for something real. Epic. Forever.”
— Ted, probably two dates in
⸻
How It Starts:
• Ted 1000% tells your mutual friends that he might’ve met “The One” after 15 minutes of conversation.
• On the second date, he shows up with a copy of The Great Gatsby with a note inside that says:
“Hope this isn’t too much. But you remind me of the green light.”
• He genuinely thinks he’s being chill. He’s not. You are both charmed and deeply concerned.
• Your first kiss happens under fairy lights outside a random coffee shop. Ted immediately says:
“I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life.”
And he means it.
⸻
The Ted Experience™:
• He overanalyzes everything you say.
“She said ‘goodnight’ and not ‘sweet dreams’… are we okay???”
• He owns a collection of love poems “in case of romantic emergencies.” He uses it.
• He once planned a date night itinerary that included a museum, a rooftop dinner, and a “pop-up violinist.” You ended up getting street tacos and watching Die Hard. He still called it the best night of his life.
• Ted talks about the future. A lot.
“I was thinking… if we ever moved in together, we could install vintage doorknobs. For character.”
Bro, we just shared fries for the first time.
⸻
The Soft, Perfect Stuff:
• He notices everything: your favorite mug, how you hum when you’re stressed, your go-to sad movie.
• When you’re sick, he makes a DIY “get well soon” basket with themed snacks, a handwritten letter, and a hot water bottle that says “Team You.”
• On your bad days, he doesn’t push — just holds your hand and says, “I’m not going anywhere.”
• He sometimes stares at you like you’re the plot twist he never saw coming.
“You make me believe in fate again.”
You roll your eyes. You smile anyway.
⸻
The Rough Bits:
• Ted feels big. He romanticizes the ordinary — which is sweet, but sometimes… unrealistic.
• He wants fairytale endings so badly, he occasionally forgets that real love takes work and patience.
• There’s tension when he gets in his head too much. Sometimes you have to say:
“Ted, I don’t need fireworks. I just need you to meet me where I am.”
• He listens. He really does. He messes up sometimes, but he never stops trying.
⸻
The Gang’s Take:
• Marshall & Lily: You’re invited to game night before you’re even official. Lily hugs you like a sister. Marshall calls you “The Chosen One.”
• Barney: He tests you at first — throwing in weird flirting and chaos to scare you off. But you hit him with witty comebacks and call out his nonsense. He respects you immediately.
“Okay fine. She’s awesome. You’re still a dork, Ted.”
• Robin: She keeps a healthy distance at first — not because of you, but because of Ted. But slowly, she starts calling you just to hang out. She trusts you. Maybe more than she ever trusted Ted when they were together.
more little sister freeman please!!! maybe how the family would react to a boyfriend? especially a bad one?

Little Sister Freeman – Bad Boyfriend Edition (Headcanons)
Pairing: Huey Freeman x little sister!reader x Riley Freeman. Robert Freeman x Granddaughter!reader. Uncle Rukus for some reason?
Trigger warnings: mention of toxic boyfriend, love bombing, talking down.
Request.
Huey Freeman:
Silent but deadly. He clocks the red flags immediately — disrespect, manipulation, laziness — and starts researching this dude’s whole life. Public records? Social media? School grades? Huey knows it all.
• Observes first. Acts second. The moment your boyfriend shows even a hint of toxicity (interrupting you, talking down to you, love bombing), Huey’s eyes narrow. Calculations begin.
• Huey won’t yell or act out. But he will silently destroy the boy’s credibility with facts, evidence, and vibes. If needed? He’ll hit him with a line like:
“You don’t love her. You just want control.”
• Protective in a lowkey way. Will walk you home quietly. Will keep receipts.
That night, the boyfriend’s bike mysteriously disappears. And his Snapchat gets hacked. No one can prove Huey did it, but… he did.
Riley Freeman:
• At first? He thinks a bad boy is kinda cool. “Aye, lil’ sis got taste, OKAY.”
• Then he sees how the guy treats you — maybe raises his voice, checks your phone, disrespects your interests — and Riley flips.
• “Nah, you ain’t gon’ talk to my baby sis like that, bruh.”
He posts a video publicly roasting the boyfriend and tags him. Bonus: he gets the whole block to hate him too.
• Might also lowkey threaten him with one of Granddad’s kitchen knives while grinning.
• Once Riley sees you getting mistreated, he goes full big brother mode. Loud, impulsive, and loyal. Ready to fight, call the group chat, AND ruin the boyfriend’s reputation in one night.
• Threatens to post old screenshots even though he doesn’t have any.
Granddad (Robert Freeman):
• Tries to be cool about it: “She’s growing up, Robert. Be mature.”
Then the boy shows up wearing Crocs and calls him “OG.”
• That’s it. No more Mr. Nice Granddad.
• Tries to ban you from dating, then gives you a dramatic talk about love and heartbreak, even though he got ghosted last week by his own Tinder date.
• “You in MY house? With that attitude? Wearing those damn shoes?? BOY IF YOU DON’T—”
• He will kick the guy out mid-dinner with a napkin still tucked in his collar. Not a shred of guilt.
• Will say “I told you so” even when no one asked.
Uncle Ruckus:
• Hates the boyfriend for reasons that don’t even make sense.
“He don’t even wash his elbows. I can smell the disrespect.”
• May try to exorcise him with a dirty Bible and old country music.
• Accidentally helpful, just by being loud and terrifying.
⸻
💔 If the Relationship Ends Badly.
• Huey checks on you quietly. Offers tea, space, or a movie where the girl gets revenge.
• Riley throws a “he was mid anyway” party.
• Granddad uses it as a reason to lecture about the “good old days” and why you should date someone “with a job and a haircut.”
• Even Jazmine might text you like: “Girl… I never liked him fr.”
Being Huey & Riley Freeman little sister headcannons.
Pairing: Huey Freeman x little sister!reader x Riley Freeman. Mentions of grandad too.
Trigger warnings: none.
You have your own rules. Granddad says “no fighting,” but Riley teaches you how to throw a punch and Huey teaches you how to dodge one. So technically, you’re following someone’s rules — just not always Granddad’s.
• You lowkey have the most power in the house. If you cry, Huey pauses his revolution. Riley puts the game on mute. Granddad starts handing out ice cream and bribes.
• Your style is a mix of both brothers. Some days you rock braids and little gold hoops like Riley picked your fit, other days you’re in combat boots and oversized shirts like Huey helped you dress. Either way, you’re cooler than everyone at school.
• You’ve perfected “the look.” One raised eyebrow, arms crossed, just like Huey when he’s disappointed. Riley says it’s scary how good you are at it — mostly because it works on him.
• You narrate everything dramatically. Riley caught you doing a fake “Boondocks” voiceover one day and now he hypes you up like, “Yo, my sister tryna get her own show!”
• You make up dances to Riley’s mixtapes and force him to be in your TikToks (he hates it but does it anyway). Huey acts uninterested… until you catch him watching them with the faintest smile.
• You’re the only one who can make Huey laugh out loud. It usually happens when you misquote a philosopher and follow it with “… or whatever he said.”
• You say “I’m telling Granddad!” at least once a day. It’s your trump card in every sibling argument. You don’t always snitch, but it’s your most powerful threat.
• You call family meetings. You saw Huey do it once, so now you bang a spoon on a cereal bowl and make everyone sit down so you can talk about something important — like “who keeps using my glitter pens.”
• You’ve got a whole gang of neighborhood kids who follow you around. They call you “Lil Freeman” and think you’re the brains and the muscle behind both brothers.
• You fall asleep during movie night with your head on Riley’s arm and your feet in Huey’s lap. They pretend they’re annoyed. They’re not.
Your Relationship with Huey Freeman:
• Huey is the big brother who lowkey acts like a parent. He’s overprotective but in a quiet, strategic way — he doesn’t hover, he watches from the shadows like a hawk.
• He sees you as the one person he has a chance to “save” from the ignorance and chaos of the world. So he tries to raise you right — reading you radical Black history books, teaching you martial arts, and correcting your grammar like it’s a revolutionary act.
• Despite being serious 99% of the time, he has a soft spot just for you. You’re the only one who can get him to crack a smile or break his “calm and calculated” vibe.
• He always walks on the side closest to the street, carries your backpack if it’s too heavy, and makes sure your nightlight works — even though he’d never admit it.
• If anyone messes with you, Huey doesn’t fight first — he investigates, finds their weakness, and ruins them with quiet precision.
Your Relationship with Riley Freeman:
• Riley calls you “Lil G” or “Shorty” and swears up and down that you’re gonna be his “ride or die” someday. He spoils you with candy, lets you wear his chains (temporarily), and teaches you all the words you probably shouldn’t be saying in school.
• He teaches you how to roast people. Like… really roast them. Your comebacks are elite because Riley made sure you didn’t go into the world soft.
• When Huey’s being too serious, Riley takes you skateboarding, sneaks you ice cream, or lets you stay up late watching rap videos — “but don’t tell Huey.”
• He tries to toughen you up because he thinks the world is rough, but he’s also the first to step up if someone makes you cry. He’ll square up with anyone — classmate, teacher, grown adult — if you’re upset.
• You’re the only person Riley shares his drawings with. He pretends he doesn’t care what you think, but your praise means everything to him.
Your Relationship with Granddad (Robert Freeman):
• Granddad treats you like the princess of the house — until you break something. Then suddenly you’re “just like your brothers!”
• He lets you watch his soaps with him and gives you little life lessons like “Don’t trust no man without a job or a good hairline.”
• You wrap him around your little finger. You want candy? You get candy. You want a dollar? You get five. But if Huey or Riley asks? “Get a job!”
• He complains about all the noise in the house, but the second you fall asleep on the couch, he carries you to bed and tucks you in like you’re still a baby.
Random Headcanons:
• You sleep in Huey’s old hoodie because it makes you feel safe. Riley pretends to hate that, but he leaves his next to it “just in case.”
• You get in trouble at school for correcting the teacher because Huey told you the real version of history. (“Christopher Columbus didn’t discover anything, ma’am.”)
• You and Riley have matching sneakers. He bought you a pair with his allowance after he scuffed yours by accident.
• You and Huey read under the covers with a flashlight. Sometimes he lets you read aloud, and he patiently helps you with the big words.
• You say “I love you” to Huey and he nods and says “Me too.”
You say it to Riley and he goes, “Man shut up… I love you too though.”
Joe Goldberg and Love Quinn kidnapping you head cannons.
Pairing: Joe Goldberg x reader x Love Quinn.
Trigger warning: Kidnapping, mentions of stalking, mentions of murder.
Before the Kidnapping:
• Joe notices you first — maybe through a bookshop, a quiet coffee shop visit, or even your social media. You’re different, quieter, more mysterious, and that draws him in.
• He does his usual thing: deep dives into your past, watches your routines, finds the “why” behind your every move. In his mind, it’s not stalking — it’s understanding.
• Love notices Joe becoming consumed by you. At first, she’s jealous. Then she gets curious. Then obsessed too. She starts showing up where you are, “accidentally.”
• Once they both agree you’re “meant to be part of their family,” the decision is made: you need to be brought home.
The Kidnapping:
• Joe handles the logistics — chloroform, soundproofing, the cage (yes, the glass box is back, or maybe it’s a hidden basement this time).
• Love bakes your favorite dessert. She wants your first moments with them to be comfortable, even though you’re restrained.
• When you wake up, they’re there — smiling, calm, warm even. “You’re safe now,” Joe says softly. “The world out there didn’t deserve you,” Love adds, cupping your face.
After the Kidnapping:
• Joe is the quiet, watchful one. He reads to you, plays music, and justifies everything. He knows you’ll come around. “This is love,” he insists.
• Love is the emotional one. She brings you food, brushes your hair, cuddles with you when you’re too exhausted to fight. She’s terrifyingly maternal.
• You’re never alone — if Joe leaves, Love stays. If Love is gone, Joe is near. Cameras watch every move.
• They argue over how to treat you — Joe wants to give you “space” to adjust. Love wants to speed up the bonding process.
• Eventually, they want you to participate in “family” things — dinner, movie nights, even photos for fake social media accounts to make it seem like you’re just living a secluded life.
Twisted Affection:
• They don’t see themselves as your captors — they’re your protectors, your lovers, your home.
• If you ever scream or fight, Joe becomes deadly calm. Love becomes heartbreakingly sad. “Why would you hurt us like this?”
• If you cry, Love holds you like a child. Joe reads you calming poetry or philosophical passages about soulmates and fate.
• Rewards are common: new books, soft clothes, your favorite shows. But they’re always conditional — behave, and you’re “loved.” Resist, and they get cold.
Escape?
• Joe is smarter than ever — every plan you try, he’s already three steps ahead.
• Love, however, is impulsive and emotional. If you play your cards right, you might manipulate her — but it’s dangerous. She’ll kill if she feels threatened.
