I’m so sorry you have to rehome your bunnies. Knowing your limits makes you the best pet parent ever. Please don’t beat yourself up for this, letting yourself heal while knowing they’re going to get cares for too is so important. ❤️

I 100% am beating myself up over it. And feeling like I failed them. But thank you for the kind words.

To anyone who is going to ask, after a hospital stay 3 years ago (a year after we got the bunnies) I have gotten sicker and sicker and sicker. I am to a point that I can no longer care for them safely and they need more. I am too disabled for it now.

I’m also getting a service dog and that is not going to be an environment conducive to caring for rabbits. They need to be able to free roam

They deserve better. But I'm heart broken. And if I get one god damned message about how horrible of an owner I am, I'm going to fucking scream. I don't want to do this. I have to do this.

its been a while since i’ve said this, so please don’t encourage content where rabbits are being held on their backs. it’s a wildly uncomfortable position for them that can put them into tonic immobility (a prey response) or in the absolute worst case scenario, cause them to struggle and injure themselves, possibly breaking their backs. even if the rabbit itself is fine with being flipped over (it’s rare but it happens i guess), it can cause injury for their backs to be bent that way so it’s best to just not do it at all, especially not for as frivolous a reason as it looking cute for notes.
