Hey, I'm a butch trans woman and iv'e really been trying to wear more masculine fashion because I hate dressing in a feminine way, but wearing masculine clothing gets me misgendered a lot. do you have any advice for like, what kind of fashion would signal that I'm a girl while still looking butch?
Wearing womenās clothing in a masculine way might help!

ok today im going to make a post about one of my history faves: Gladys Bently
She was a musician during The Harlem Renaissance and very very very VERY openly a lesbian. She was known to flirt with women in the audience during her performances. She even claimed to have had a wife (although i cant find any details on that) and was quoted as saying āIt seems I was born different. At least, I always thought soā¦.From the time I can remember anything, even as I was toddling, I never wanted a man to touch me.ā Unfortunately as far as I can tell none of her explicitly gay music was ever recorded Sadly, She eventually had to claim she was no longer attracted to women for her own personal safety, although to quote this article āThese desperate attempts to survive do not diminish her previous accomplishments.ā In a world where it feels like the only gay people in media are thin, flat chested, white people, I think we should all take a sec to remember this wonderful lesbian
commission i did for @blxckbi !!! thank you SO much this was so fun!!!!

love this!

My taste in clothing has never been gender specific. I donāt see a menās or womenās section when it comes to my appearance. I gravitate to what I like. I wear it with confidence, make it my own, and ignore disapproving looks and comments. Whether it be a more feminine or masculine outfit makes no difference. Originality and the courage to embrace myself are all that matters. My look has always been androgynous and versatile. And thereās absolutely nothing wrong with that. Today, Iām launching my project āandro-ā. Itās short for androgynous which means āof indeterminate sexā. Iām starting this project to encourage originality, push gender specific boundaries of fashion, and ultimately shine a light on those who are brave enough to be themselves. Loving yourself and your appearance is a lifestyle. You should celebrate it everyday. ā @nikonmami
