More Everlark brainrot lol don't think I'll ever be able to stop drawing these two. Which, if we follow that line of thinking makes Katniss almost starving even worse. (And Peeta's bread even a bigger rebellion.) You see, her grandparents were townies and were still alive when Mr. Everdeen passed. They didn't help their daughter or granddaughter, didn't reach out.

The bread (in that scenario) is an even bigger act of rebellion. It's Peeta saying a big F-you to his Mother but also to ALL of the townies he knows haven't done a thing. If you think about being a kid, you know there isn't a lot of control they have over things. He couldn't control his family situation, or the beatings. But he took the time and threw her bread.

(I sound like I can't say a straight sentence here, but I am tying this between meetings.)

"mama ljubila morona" ("mom kissed a moron") - "mama" is actually Mother Russia. I don't think I need to explain who's the moron.

"mama, ja se idem igrat', mama, idem u rat ("mom, I'm going to play, mom, I'm going to war") - self-explanatory

"onaj mali psihopat, mali, podli psihopat" ("that little psychopath, that little, vile psychopath") - if you know who's the moron, it's also self-explanatory

their costume - mixing military-style uniforms with make-up and skirts - actually makes fun of russia's anti-lgbt+ policies :)
