All over the world people are talking about business and IT and some even talking about aligning these two.
Have you ever wondered what is the Business? does business include HR, Finance, marketing, or sales, product development, supply chain, or perhaps customer and supplier interfaces?
IT in a company is supposed to support or enable all these capability areas. And IT itself requires IT systems in order to enable planning, design, development and production.
So what is business - IT alignment? Is it feasible to isolate IT from rest of the business ecosystem?
Would it be more feasible to talk about Business, IT included? Then we can start talking about the actual topic, how User organisations can best benefit from IT. The user organisation and IT agendas must be aligned and prioritised, for better business.
