my name is aurelia grace ♡ I am 18 years old, a cancer sun, moon, and venus with a virgo ascendant ⋆ ⏾ ݁ ˖ I love everything soft, sweet, and sentimental . . . I don’t define my blog or online presence into a specific aesthetic but I draw heavy inspiration from delicate sweet, dollette, and vintage styles alongside japanese street fashion ♡
I have a special fondness for antique and vintage dolls, baby pink roses, butterflies, vanilla scented perfume, precious moments figurines, dolly lashes, unreleased lizzy grant, anything adorned with lace and ribbons, unicorns, fairytales, and bunnies ♡
“There’s something fairy-tale-like about it, which is perfect, because fairy tales are all about innocence and ill will and the inevitability of terrible things. They’re all about the moment when the girl is no longer who she was.”
— Nina LaCour, Everything Leads to You (via paper-fairy)
While Cinderella was abused, humiliated, and finally forced to become a servant in her own house. And yet, through it all, Cinderella remained ever gentle and kind, for with each dawn she found new hope that someday her dreams of happiness would come true…” — Cinderella 1950 ♡
having a teensy tiny bit of internet notoriety gets to so many people’s heads and gives them such large egos . . . like having a couple thousand followers or a lot of likes on a selfie doesn’t mean anything especially if you’re not distinguishable from the other people in your niche and I really hope some of you stop thinking that you are celebrities because you aren’t and probably never will be
thank you so so so much for the tag! @ballerinapetal ♡ one of my sweetest mutuals 🐰
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀ fairytales ⠀ever since I was a little girl, I was endlessly enchanted by the world of fairytales . . . the idea of a land filled with magic, where goodness and virtue always triumphed over evil, filled me with such comfort. there was a sense of security that came from believing kindness would always be rewarded, and that cruelty could never truly win, and that every story could have a happily ever after . . . I wanted that to be real more than anything . . . I blew on every dandelion I could find, wished upon every shooting star I saw with my little eyes, and whispered every prayer I could think of into the evening sky, quietly hoping that somewhere, somehow, my fairy godmother was listening . . . and that some day, my prince would come. ♡
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀ princesses ⠀ and what does every good fairytale have? A princess, of course! when I was a child, I dreamed of becoming one . . . I imagined myself as an impossibly beautiful young maiden with endless gowns, sparkling tiaras, and a charming prince that would sweep me away to a castle nestled high above the clouds . . . to my childhood self, it was the most beautiful dream imaginable, but as I’ve grown older, I’ve realized that being a princess has never truly been about castles or tiaras or even princes . . . it’s about having a heart that always strives to do what is right. I like to believe that nobility of heart lives within everyone, even if it is waiting to be nurtured, and because of that . . . I believe that there is a princess in every girl ♡
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀ antique and vintage dolls ⠀one of my very earliest memories of being on the internet as a little girl was stumbling upon a video by theriault’s, an auction house that specializes in antique dolls, showing 19th-century bisque dolls, and I instantly fell in love . . . I’ve always adored dolls, especially Barbie, who still holds such a special place in my heart, but nothing has ever captured my imagination quite like golden age bisque dolls (c. 1870–1910), especially the beautiful french fashions and bébés. ♡ what fascinates me most is that they are little windows into history, every little detail reflects the era in which they were made, to hold one is to hold a precious little time capsule from a bygone era, which will never be experienced again . . . as a child, my love for dolls went hand in hand with my fascination for history, I would spend hours daydreaming about being a little girl in belle époque paris, living in a grand château where my parents indulged in my every wish, filling my room with the most exquisite Jumeau, Bru Jne, and Steiner dolls imaginable, alongside a magnificent dollhouse overflowing with the tiniest furniture, dresses, and accessories a little girl could ever dream of. ♡
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀ 18th century french rococo ⠀ continuing my lifelong love of history . . . I have always adored the splendor of 18th century france, especially anything surrounding life at the château de versailles. sofia coppola’s marie antoinette, the shōjo manga the rose of versailles, and every book or documentary I could find about madame de pompadour or madame du barry completely captured my imagination ♡ there is something about the pastel colors, cascading lace, exquisite florals, and playfulness of the rococo era that made my heart feel at home, almost as if I was a french aristocrat in my past life . . . looking back, this was the beginning of my love of historical fashion. this period inspired me to learn more about the clothing of the past, and before long, one fascination gently blossomed into another. ♡
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀ hime lolita fashion ⠀ oh my goodness, this truly brings me back! I discovered lolita fashion through watching youtube videos about people with unconventional styles, and it instantly captured my heart ♡ I’ve always loved anything girly, frilly, and doll-esque or related to princesses, so it makes sense that I would love a fashion style that essentially turns you into a doll that stepped right out of a storybook . . . I remember spending birthdays and christmases hoping, more than anything, for an angelic pretty dress, or even just a little bonnet or headbow to wear. while those beautiful dresses were beyond what my family could afford at the time, I never felt that my dreams were dismissed. my aunt, especially, always embraced my love for that style. she would surprise me with the sweetest dresses, sparkling tiaras, and little accessories that made me feel every bit as beautiful as the girls I saw online, even if they weren’t technically lolita. looking back now, I think that’s one of the greatest gifts she could have given me . . . not just pretty things, but the feeling that my little dreams were worth believing in. ♡
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀tea parties ⠀ one of my favorite pastimes as a child was host tea parties with my dolls and stuffed animals ♡ I would spend hours making things just so, setting up tables with lace tablecloths and doilies, placing porcelain cups and saucers in the laps of teddy bears, and pretending I was the most proper little hostess in all of toyland. whenever my aunt would take me to the thrift stores around my town, I would always head straight to the trinket isles, begging and pleading for the cutest little teacups and teapots, especially if they had any pink roses! I loved watching videos learning about proper tea etiquette, and and dreaming about the grand tea rooms people visited around the world. however, I am a southern belle, so I never had any fancy earl grey or lavender . . . I only served the sweetest of sweet tea. ♡
⋆ ⸌̑⸍͂ ⸜̑⸝͂ ݁ ˖ ⠀generations 1-3 of my little pony⠀ growing up in the early 2010s as an unapologetically girly girl, I naturally liked my little pony: friendship is magic . . . but even then, I always felt especially drawn to the earlier generations of the franchise. being a child who spent far too much time on the internet, a lot of my exposure to mlp came through fan-created content made by generation 4 fans that wasn’t really made with young girls like me in mind . . . much of it was violent, or vulgar, and it often left me feeling upset. then I discovered the older generations of my little pony, and it lit up my heart with joy ♡ everything was so unapologetically soft, gentle, and undeniably feminine, even the ponies were cuter and looked more like horses instead of cat-like creatures (which is where I think the generation 4 artstyle falls short in comparison to other generations) . . . and most of all, there was no irony or embarrassment from older generation fans about loving soft things, which made me love it even more. ♡
