As a child I have a distinct memory of trying to solve my first thousand piece puzzle by myself. It was overwhelming and frustrating- I began to cry for my mother who had recently passed away from cancer. Sensing my pain and frustration my father joined. The next day after school kids and parents from the neighborhood came to our house to help. We completed it at midnight and celebrated with pizza. What I took away from that experience was that no matter what "puzzle" we face in life having family, support, and guidance was crucial for a successful outcome.
