AND WE KISSED, AS THOUGH NOTHING COULD FALL

Having met at a party sometime in her early 20′s. The woman had just started her modeling career and was plastered almost everywhere and anywhere. Having some commonalities with each other they soon became fast friends. Then one day in Berlin, she had scheduled a lunch to have with him at his house. Soon after pulling up she spotted him passed out in the drive way overdosing from cocaine. Calling the hospital and getting him properly taken care of she went to work purging the house of all the drugs she could find that were readily available to her eye. After some time spent together he did get sober although it was hard for her to leave once she’d been through that with him. So she stuck around a little while longer. Working small shoots in Berlin. Loving it so much in the city she decided to move in with him and begin a relationship.
MUN NOTES: Nic, you and I have been through so much since I met you back on tommy that it blows my mind. We’ve had our ups and downs in this friendship but overall its been a good and wild experience. We have our particular sense of humor that no one else gets ( the two hamsters. ) LIKE how can no one else FIND that funny? Like wtf. Anyways I just want to say I really do appreciate your friendship and the constant companionship you give to me. I love you. — xoxo Desii.
A day in Kyoto, Masayoshi Sukita, 1980.
A sigh, and David leant forward, elbows on the coffee table, facing Jeannie. “I've been trying my best. And please don't take notes on me. You're a model, not a nurse.” He lit another cigarette, thanking her for them with a nod of his head. He knew he should be more grateful. It was merely that — well, he'd come to Berlin in hopes of finding independence. He'd screwed that up already. He was angrier with himself than he could ever have dreamt of being with anyone else.
“Alright.” David ran a hand through hair gummed up with the glue from hospital machines, defeated. “I'm going to go and have a shower. Then surely we can work out something better to do with our day than to squabble.” He hated to argue with friends. His patience was being tried enough already; he didn't want to be pushed to reciprocating Jeannie's sternness and jibes.
This is a starter call! Like for a starter.
David laughed a little, wryly. “Do you really think so? A ‘woman's touch’.” Scowling, he poured himself a long black coffee and, before it'd had the slightest time to cool, took a gulp. Walking back to the sitting room, he spoke as he went. “It's not that I don't want to get better. You know, it's just that I don't want to get worse.” Jeannie's words had certainly cut deep. Were she not an old friend, he would've kicked her out of his house by now. He didn't appreciate being told that he lived a “miserable existence”. He didn't appreciate being pushed around. It only depressed him. He certainly didn't need any more of that.
Sitting down at the coffee table, another cigarette finished and done with, he turned to the kitchen door, calling after Jeannie. “You've got to realise that it's just not as easy as going straight overnight. I lasted a good three, four months. It was a season in hell.” His last cigarette packet was empty. Another scowl, and he threw it into the wastepaper basket.
