SID6581 chip FTW
Installing the SID chip into our #teensy #arduino rig. C64 synth here we come!
bzzt.studio
Hardhat v2 noodling.
It’s a hardware mod tracker player which syncs with pocket operator and korg volca.
Find out more and follow along at bzzt.studio.

wood logo
Probably the worlds tiniest MIDI controller
A little something we’ve been hacking on.
Kickstarter video prep
assembling thumbelina units for the kickstarter video we shot on the weekend.
Smooth rotary encoder test
We found some beautiful smooth rotary encoders from Alps. On the Raspberry Pi we have some nodejs code working on Tiny Core Linux to read the value. It includes a push button on the top.
Hardhat testing
Doing some tests of our new product prototype: a tracker module player with pocket operator and volca sync.
Early MIDI prototype
This is one of our early prototypes.
With 8 MIDI controller knobs, exposed circuitry, and a wooden enclosure, we were going for a hand crafted natural aesthetic.
Once this one is done we'll probably sell it on Etsy - enquiries welcome!
Hardhat jam
Playing with our first prototype the hardhat. Plays tracker module files and syncs with very rad pocket operator.
Tiny synthesizer experiments
We’ve been experimenting with different form factors for tiny synthesizer modules.
We came up with this layout using a rotary encoder, Nokia phone screen, and a single button for controlling Pure Data patches. Probably do a nodejs version too.
Custom GBA mixer thing
We built this custom Gameboy Advance syncing mixer thing for a friend.
A GBA running the Looper Advance rom will sync beats with the mixer and effects unit.
Testing Raspberry Pi hats
We’ve been testing out different 3rd party Raspberry Pi hats.
This one has a simple LCD screen and some buttons.
We wrote some nodejs code running under Tiny Core Linux to read the buttons and change what it says on the screen.
We used the adafruit-i2c-lcd library to get it working.
Hello world!
