Timur always found himself interested in Maxim, how he'd always keep to himself, the brooding type, he thought he tried too hard to keep a certain persona that makes him seems distant and nonchalant.
He wanted to know how he was, how he really was like on the inside, but he wouldn't open up, almost as stubborn as a mule. It frustrated him, he thought people would find it easy to open up around him. Sasha'd laughed at how he got the mark in his eye, Even a quiet man like Shuhrat was willing to open up to Timur, but even then he thought Shuhrat was an oddball at first. What's different with Maxim?
So, picking up a habit from his job he decided to watch from afar, study him from afar as if he was a reference for one of his sketches. Well, he did, he often did sketches of the other operators, reactions vary but they were often positive when he showed them their portraits, but this time he doesn't think it'd be worth it to show, or if the other man wants to know what he draws him doing.
Napping, showering, eating, all viewed from afar and without him noticing. Maxim quickly became his muse, his muse to take photos of and sketch. He'd hold these Polaroids and pages close and used him to his own benefit when he feels too lonely.
Maxim, the hunter he is, he was too used to being the hunter not the hunted. He felt like a bunny in the woods, not knowing a starving wolf is stalking him until the last minute just as the wolf was about to pounce onto him and he had no time to prepare, no time to defend himself when the wolf's sharp teeth were already sinking into his white fur.
Glaz cursed himself for being so stupid, for getting too close in his proximity too fast. Why didn't he think properly? he should've predicted this, he wasn't the only one that hunted. He was angry. So he decided to chase him before he'd outrun him.
He got him when he was alone, vulnerable, no one would see him nor would they hear his cries. But he knew Maxim would play hard to get, he would fight back instead of giving in, he always did, he'd rather slit his own throat before asking for help.
Maxim fought back, he was experienced with handling animals that fought back under his traps, but he didn't think the day he'd be the one under those traps. Vulnerable and squirming under his grip, but the difference is he fought back, hard, he tried really hard.
But no matter how hard he punched, how much bruises or wounds he left on Timur. He still managed to rip his only sense of dignity apart, he ripped his control away from him just like how he ripped his clothes. Timur cursed him out for making him having to resort to this instead of just letting himself open up and not put up an act, but Maxim wasn't hearing any of it.
He didn't think he'd finally see the day he'd be on the brink of tears, struggling to fight, having to be the one that wanted to just run away instead of the one running after. His brain which usually was calculated and never quiet with his own voices, was finally blank. Tears trickled down staining his cheeks just as his blood started to stain Timur's zippers. Maybe this was payback for all of the ones he hunted.
