Warning: violence (canon compliant), a bit of Mithra/Owen depiction but the main focus will still be Cain and Owen pair. Only up to the third act is available for now.

Playtime is going to be 4 hours roughly. Recorded on auto, Act I takes up one and a half hour to finish, but if you're a fast reader it won't take as long.

Initially, I intended to use ATTWN as a placeholder title... Since I can't come up with something better, I ended up using it 🙇🏻‍♀️

[WIP] MHYK VN Project #2 (for Cain/Owen fated pair)

When I started this project, I knew I wanted to create a fantasy historical setting, so I tried to incorporate as many historical elements as possible without worrying about accuracy. Drawing the assets has been enjoyable and motivating. Although I still haven't quite mastered conveying emotions accurately through facial expressions, I'd like to think that my skills have improved in some areas.

In Last Mana, I had the idea to format the next project the same, i.e. main fate pair with three other MHYK characters as supporters, so I wouldn't need to draw more than five characters for a project. Other characters may appear, but they won't have detailed drawn sprites like Chloe, Heathcliff and Murr.

Turned out this was impossible to do with this project. Rustica and Chloe, who are supposed to be supporting characters, play too important a role in the initial plot development to be presented with just silhouettes. So I drew them too.

Last Mana reached its conclusion at 30,553 words. This project, temporarily named And Then There Were None btw, while I think of a suitable title, has only reached a third of the entire plot with a word count of 26,429 /dying sounds

Well... worst case scenario, I can just close down the folder project and never open it again and be facing no consequences at all. This is a fan project, not real life responsibilities 💀😅 ( ◀ a great reminder whenever I'm done wrestling with the technical aspects of Ren'Py, which is pretty much every time I open the program)

I think I'll try making some simple custom UI that'll match the atmosphere of a historical game next...

If you manage to reach the end of the gameplay and it shows an empty CG, that's not a mistake. I have not put them in 🙏 This project's likely won't see its continuation, but I don't have any courage to throw away the assets just like that. So I put together all the things I've worked on and this is the end result.

I managed to somewhat finish a playable version before the year ends somehow, so I'm putting it up 💖 The old version, which only available on YouTube has been unlisted, but if anyone's interested to see what this project look like initially back when my drawing skills near nonexistent, you can still watch it through the link.
