âI didnât chose to be in Slytherin!ââ she shouted at Cadmus. âI try to get along with other students, but I canât when everybody is rubbing in my face that Iâm a Slytherin,â she was so close to start crying.
âCalm down,â Cadmus choked out through a laugh. Clearly heâd found the sensitive one of the bunch. âHave some house pride. Defend yourself, youâre making a bad name for your house.â
fixitabi:
âi have failed a few puzzles before and iâm not ashamed. thatâs the only way you can learn.â abi rolled her eyes in return. âyou know, for a ravenclaw your attempt at insults are a little cliche. would you like to try again?â she raised her brows at him, but playfully because she could never take him and his ideals very seriously, plus fighting fire with fire just wasnât her style. âyou excited for the next quidditch game?â
Cadmus smirked, arms crossing over his chest as he surveyed his fellow Ravenclaw. He could appreciate her sass. âVery well, Harris. Iâll let you have this one.â She changed the topic and Cadmus dropped his arms, tucking his hands into the back pockets of his pants. âAny opportunity to put those Slytherin trash in their place is something to get excited about. Youâve been looking good at practice. I think between the two of us those snakes donât stand a chance.â
thehalfbloodprincespeaks:
âYou see, that can be a great failing,â Severus drawls, âHigh expectations of others. People are, on the whole, complete and utter nitwits, regardless of whether theyâd like to be. Ravenclaws arenât inherently intelligent, itâs merely the pursuit above all else that has you placed there. Therefore, there are dunderheaded Ravenclaws just as there are idiots everywhere. Take that Lockhart for example.â
âAh yes, I forgot we had a philosophy student in our presence. Please, enlighten me on the ways of the sorting hat. Although I suppose I could agree to an extent. I suppose every house has their dunce. And I suppose Lockhart would be ours - although I also reckon heâs still smarter than most other houseâs brightest.â
emsvcnity:
âYouâre getting awfully heated about passwords and riddles. Is this - - - is this what you all talk about in the ravenclaw gang? I feel like Iâm getting a glimpse at a brand new world, and unfortunately, it sounds a little boring.â
âVanity, Vanity, Vanity. If I really wanted to let you know what we superior students discussed then Iâd sneak you in. Although we wouldnât spend any time discussing puzzles and you Slytherinsâ lack of ability to solve them. It would be anything but boring, Iâm sure youâd agree.â
xenolovegood:
âThe point of the riddle is to keep our minds sharp. Making people who arenât great at them do them so frequently is actually quite beneficial. Besides intelligence is about a lot more than puzzles. Something so arbitrary shouldnât determine who can be a Ravenclaw.â
âBlah, blah, blah itâs always equality with you, Lovegood. I donât recall you being the sorting hat, although I guess if you squint enough..â
narcissablvxk:
âBoy are you mad at the world today or something, Travers?â Narcissa giggled, a hand hovering over her lips as she did. âAfter all C, they canât all be geniuses?â
Cadmus grinned down at the petite girl. âJust like any other day, Cissa. Valid point - I do seem to be exceptionally brilliant in comparison. Yâknow, maybe you shouldâve been sorted into Ravenclaw. Youâre too pure for the likings of Slytherin.â
alessandrazabiinii:
ââLike Gryffindor?ââ she joked
âThatâs awfully small of you to throw them under the bus when your own house does the same thing, love.â
fixitabi:
âravenclawâs also about acceptance,â abi countered, glancing up from the novel in her hands with an amused sort of smile. cadmas wasnât someone she would normally speak to, but his sweeping generalisation prompted an itching feeling in her mind, like seeing a blatant grammar mistake in someoneâs work. âacceptance to other peopleâs differences. not all ravenclaws are good at riddles, but they mustâve been sorted here for a reason, otherwise the hat wouldnât have picked it. maybe you shouldâve been sorted into somethinâ a little more selective? like slytherin.â
Cadmus rolled his eyes at his fellow Ravenclawâs words. âObviously,â he spat back, âotherwise I wouldnât be living in a house full of half-blood mutts and mudbloods. But I tolerate them because at least theyâre Ravenclaws. You just sound a little too defensive, Harris. Like perhaps maybe youâve failed a puzzle or two in your time? Perhaps Iâm not the only one sorted incorrectly, you Puff.â
âWhatâs the point of a student being sorted into Ravenclaw if theyâre not even bloody smart enough to get into the common room? I could solve those riddles in my sleep, yet some people stand out there for hours waiting for someone to come along and let them in with the correct answer. The sorting hat shouldâve done them a favor and just sorted them into a house that requires a simple password for entrance.â
