The French Garden style is characterized by symmetry, order, and geometric design. These gardens were meant to show control over nature, which in turn showcased the influence and wealth of the garden owners. It was a symbol of power in the sense that if you have control over nature, you must be quite important, perhaps even royality. While in Paris we saw one of the most prominent examples of the French Garden which is known as the Jardin des Tuileries. This is one of the most influential gardens in the world. We walked through it from the famous public square Place de la Concorde all the way to the Louvre which is one of the best museums in the world. As seen in my photos there is complete symmetry in everything from the trees to the buildings. The control over nature is exemplified here even in the bushes which are trimmed in various designs and shapes. There is clear sense of geometric design here and it was interesting to see the harmony between architecture and nature through this French Garden.
