Theresa May is so Thatcheresque, I mean she not directly crashed any industries yet but she evil, doesn’t care she wasn’t even elected, doesn’t care that she’s supposedly from a working class background that sold her soul out for her own macho ego trip.

person: are you ok? me: yeah i just think marcia lucas, george lucas ex-wife, should be more praised in the star wars fandom cause she literally saved the franchise in the 70′s. marcia was the one who had all the good ideas (like killing obi-wan, the “a kiss for luck” sequence) and was the one who had to edit the entire movie cause the first cut of ANH was an incomprehensible mess. marcia is also responsable for the existence of the battle of yavin aka the sequence where the good guys win over the empire. george lucas was, most of the time, tripping on acid and would’ve end up ruined if not for marcia’s ideas and actions. without marcia lucas, star wars would’ve flopped so hard we’d probably never even been hearing about star wars til these days. she left the sw franchise after her divorce with GL, during the production of ESB (but she kept working on ROTJ). her work provided her with an Oscar of Best Film Editing for ANH. wondering why george lucas never made a good sw movie after she left? George Lucas also had very little to do with Empire and RotJ. Besides the prequels, the most influence he has was A New Hope, and you can see where he pops up. I like Star Wars, but I have thought for a long time George was a hack. Now, I know it was because of a woman. Fuck yeah!

Standing Rock Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Council releases statement on DAPL: “We are in no way ‘negotiating’ with the companies – nor the administration”

The Standing Rock Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Council on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, released a statement regarding the Dakota Access pipeline.

The Council seeks to clarify its position on the defeating the Dakota Access pipeline. It says it is important to educate the upcoming Trump administration the Nation’s perspective on why they don’t want the pipeline near its water.

Unfortunately, in recent weeks there have been rumors that the Standing Rock Očhéthi Šakówiŋ has entered into a secret deal with the owners of the pipeline. The statement seeks dispel those false rumors.

The Council states: “We are in no way ‘negotiating’ with the companies nor the administration. We are not giving into the proposed route and never will.”

Here is the complete statement released today:

Dear Standing Rock Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Members and Allies:

We would like to take this opportunity as a council to address our community and assess where we are in our efforts to defeat this pipeline.

We assure you that the council is fully aware and united in our efforts to do what is right for our people. We stand by our leadership as we begin the difficult task of developing new relationships with the incoming administration, with the goal of sharing our perspective. The concerns that are obvious to us are foreign to many, and we must try and educate and explain in the hopes that they understand, or at the very least grant us the benefit of the doubt. We will not win any arguments if we go in completely oppositional to this administration. Our only path forward to protecting our water is to spread awareness and be heard.

While [Standing Rock] representatives have met with elected officials of both parties as well as companies involved in the pipeline battle, we are in no way “negotiating” with the companies nor the administration. We are not giving into the proposed route and never will. But we are using every social and political tool in our power to help those who may oppose us to work with us and not against us.

We are increasing pressure on the current administration to start the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process before the end of President Obama’s term. As soon it is announced, we will work to have scoping sessions as soon as possible to determine the area that will be examined. Please be assured that we continue to stand united against the completion of the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline. We must remain united and stay focused on our goal; water is life.”
