they're executing the count from sesame street for violating the masquerade
So my good pal @scorching-sun-shelters-snake has just listened to the first season of Midst, and we both agree that the best part about Midst's narration is that the Third Person won't simply tell you that a character walks into the room.
No, that character foots gingerly across the threshold of the room, placing the first tentative step onto the fine wooden floorboards of the establishment. [Narrator 2] And it is a fine establishment indeed, if we do say so ourselves. It has this sort of a classy, refined look to it, with the draperies embroidered with fantastical designs, with a tasteful, dark wallpaper that has an equally elaborate, delicate pattern etched into it, with what looks like tiny... Sequins? Peppered in here and there, which reflect the dim light making its way in through the half-drawn curtains, it's- it's really lavish. [Narrator 1] Whoever designed it must have had incredibly good taste. [Narrator 3] Oh, yes, and in fact, off of these very fine walls of this very, very fine establishment, there reverberates a sound- a creak, of the fine, dark wooden floorboard that our character has currently found himself stepping onto. [Narrator 2] You'd think that in an establishment as fine as this, the floorboards wouldn't creak, what with the impeccable state this establishment seems to be kept in- [Narrator 3] And, you'd actually be somewhat correct, because this, this was done on purpose. The architect of this place- [Narrator 1] a guy called Mark, really swell guy - [Narrator 2] Has some VERY nice children!- [Narrator 3] -HE has been specifically asked, to install this one floorboard that would creak when you walk in. [Narrator 2] To sort of, suss out who's the regular and who's not, you know, as they walk in. Clever, isn't it? [Narrator 3] A little bit... Weird, maybe, but Mark wasn’t paid to question the commissioner's choices, he was there to do his job and god damn it did he do it well. [Narrator 2] Yeah, what a swell guy! [Narrator 1] Our character, of course, doesn’t know any of this. We know this. [Narrator 3] You know this. [Narrator 2] Because we've just told you. [Narrator 1] But, because he doesn't know this, his entire elaborate scheme, his entire highly classified stealth mission- [Narrator 3] Goes to shit in this very instant. [Cue funky music]
Based on the map of the Pentacle of Proving, it's very clear that the Fifth Test, which allows one to become a teacher, takes place in the Great Hall. Furthermore, it is called the Words of The Wise.
Which. Does that mean that the fifth test is basically a job interview with Beldaruit?
Oh I'm sure he'd give you some kind of trial, like he did with the girls after the second test debacle, but, still. Did Qifrey go up to his former master like, "hmm dad master Bel do we really have to go through this. You know I can do this already."
And Beldaruit would say something along the lines of, oh my dear former apprentice, of course we do, I can't be partisan now can I? ;)
And qifrey, head in his hands, would ask how the hell beldaruit can do winkyface emoticons with his voice
you know what? fuck it *reads the fanfic I spent hours writing for my own enjoyment*
if you’re not rereading your own 3yo one-shots every once in a while so you can shake your head at the ao3 tab and mutter god i’m fucking funny then what are we even doing all this work for?
In the end, it's still you Another brimhat Coco drawing! This time a bit more bittersweet? I imagine even if she becomes a brimhat, the same kind Coco would still be in there, maybe resurfacing when she sees her old friends again.. also excited to see her in the season 2 preview!
"get him pregnant" well thats not my thing but to each their own
"get her pregnant" *takes up my sword and shield* i wont let you do that to her. ......................
qifrey seems like the type of person to wake up during surgery, y’know?
still caring about internet friends you lost touch with years ago is so embarrassing. yeah i had a deam we met up irl recently. the last time we spoke was maybe 7-8 years ago. i still wear the laces we randomly decided was a sign of our friendship. i dont know what any of your socials are or if youre even active on any. sometimes i see someones art resemble yours and i wonder for hours. do you still go by that name you chose? whenever i see it i wonder if its you. we couldve passed each other in this vastness a thousand times and not have a clue.
we were lonely kids having fun together. do you remember?
The six petalled black and white florette dingbat symbol (✾) looks kinda like a wood sorrel; the flower that grows on graves as well as near Qifrey's atelier (and man can I write an essay about that).
This is great for me personally because I can put it as a linebreak for the second act of wise and torch and be evilly rubbing my hands about the symbolism
My cat decided I needed a break from writing and threw my drink over my laptop. Sadly for him, I'm an adult with money and I can buy a new laptop.
I am BACK (new laptop) in the BUILDING (wise and torch document)
not me
blood magic isn’t even that big of a deal you guys are just sensitive
“word hashtag my word #myword” has done irreversible damage to my vocabulary
Commission for @shellmilla, thank you!
