"Don't get squirrelly on me." They're at dinner and Regis is reaching into the pocket of his suit jacket. The lawyer had insisted on meeting him straight from the office, his briefcase next to him.
➷ Regis@calamumincharta
Oh no, now what? Nyx has learned quickly that phrase always mean trouble on his end of things; the last time this happened, his stuff moved to the lawyer’s estate.
The dancer turns his attention from his drink to the man across the table from him, doing everything he can to be oblivious to the reaching into the jacket.
“Is it another kitten, Regis? Because you may have a problem picking strays off the street, sir.”
His only giveaway to his rising nerves is the light tapping of his finger on the table, light enough to not truly make noise but let him move.
calamumincharta:
Regis chuckles more, the action causing his eyes to crinkle. A thumb swipes over Nyx’s hand in a soothing manner. Even so many years later the elder finds the dancer’s defensiveness amusing.
“I am well aware, Nyx. Not once have you asked for more. Not unless you absolutely had to. I’ve always just given it to you. I had hoped my son would see that.”
The lawyer brings the other’s knuckles to his lips.
“I am a man who likes his affairs in order. My will and insurance can be changed at any time. Should anything happen to me I want you and your family cared for. A civil partnership would be in your favor should anyone contest the documents.”
They both knew who Regis meant.
There’s a small frown at that, so used to having to defend himself at this point that it became more of a knee jerk response. Some days he forgets he doesn’t have to do that with Regis, never has.
A soft scoff of amusement sounds when the older man attempts to distract him, even if it definitely does for the moment.
“You mean the cats and I?” he asked with a raised brow, unable to help the light joking despite the serious matter being discussed. The fidgeting easily transferred to toying with the lawyer’s digits while his eyes wander, even as he listens. “…I mean, it’s not like he doesn’t have the right of that entitlment; he’s yours.”
Nyx still allows himself to smile in light of his words, “and what about not as a lawyer and business man, Regis?”
Wishing to sooth his lover, Regis's hand gently squeezed the dancer' s. A smile split his lips.
"Of course. Gin and Tonic must continue to live in the luxury they have grown accustomed to." he replied with amusment.
Though there was a BLATANT face as the lawyer tried not to roll his eyes. Regis loved his son dearly but he was growing rath tired of Noctis's opposition to his relationship.
"It is his right bit still doesn't need to be a shit about it."
Regis brought Nyx's hand to his lips and kept it there for a few seconds before continuing. "As just me, I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I can't give you marriage. We discussed why. Perhaps one day. But this is what I can give. So it is what I offer."
Her face is definately pressed against the glass of the coffee shop. "Can I pet your dog?!" - Persephone! Luna (hehehehe had to)
Titus hadn’t been back in the living world in two years. He’d felt like he was growing into his role for most of his life, slowly stepping into it. Finally finding his way to the Underworld.
His new kingdom.
He didn’t seek out many other of the newborn divinities. Just those few that found themselves connected to the dead. A few run ins here and there. Ceberus was one of the few divine creatures he’d met that wasn’t human, though, and he liked his company. Wanted to give him more experience in the world.
Even so. He felt something about the woman in the glass, blinking as he arched his eyebrow. Cerberus lifted all three heads, but didn’t get up, watching her intently beneath the glamer that shielded him from mortal eyes. Titus just arched his eyebrow at the beautiful younger woman, and nodded.
“If you like.”
calamumincharta:
“Titus…” she repeated before smiling wider. The flowers behind her blossomed as she did.
“Quite suiting for a god of your position. I am Lunafreya. But you may call me Luna.”
The blonde stood, brushing off her white and pink floral sundress that looked untouched despite her sitting on the FILTHY ground. The fabric still crisp and bright without a single wrinkle. She picked up her latte and sipped before gesturing to the empty seat opposite of the big man.
“May I?”
“Of course. I have little authority on the living. You may sit where you like,” Titus said, but smiled cautiously at her. The god of the underworld wasn’t terribly used to dealing with people much, anymore. Not the kind that breathed.
“And the company might be nice. You’re very pleasant to be around. As i’m sure you’re quite aware, Lunafreya. Luna,” he tried both names carefully in his mouth, going over them like something precious.
“Your name suits yours well, too.”
With a soft chuckle she lifted herself from the ground and slipped into the seat OPPOSITE to him. Delicate fingers curl around the green straw as she takes his words in with a dusting of red across her cheeks.
"My...such charming words. I've yet to meet another immortal that flatters me so."
Not that she had met many. Luna had delved into her new role among the humans and set to learn their new ways. Titus had been the first she had noticed in MONTHS.

Setting the latte down on the table in order to use both hands, Luna plopped unceremoniously on the sidewalk in order to give the beast her FULL attention, not at all phased by the excessive licking.
“They look so well cared for. Spoiled.” For emphasis she patted Cerberus’s belly.
“I know many of the Underworld tend to stay below ground. You must really care for him to bring him up here.”
The Goddess leaned over, past Titus and touched the leaf that had begun to wither, bringing it back to life.
Titus snorted, his expression curling up into a bemused smile as he looked down over the woman.
“I do, I- I hadn’t left for several years. But they needed to see daylight, springtime. Chase a few squirrels. Or attempt to. They can never decide which thing to chase for mortal things. They only ever agree in my realm, when set to guard,” he said, with no little fondness in his voice as he sipped his coffee.
“Titus, is my name, Lady Spring. And… it is nice to meet you. I don’t think Cerberus has ever taken so kindly to anyone else.”
"Titus..." she repeated before smiling wider. The flowers behind her blossomed as she did.

Crimson spreads across pale cheeks. Something about the Prince made him throw caution to the wind. Such impulsive behaviors borderline REPULSED Ignis yet he found that Ravus seemed to push his sensibilities out the window.
“Yes…”
Ignis found himself leaning across the table to capture the other’s lips once more before he could say much more.
This impulsive boldness is a surprise coming from Ignis. Ravus had never in the time he had known the man imagined him to give in to such desires. Yet there he is, doing exactly that, leaning in for another kiss.
He is still, though the fact that he does not pull away speaks volumes; he is not against the kiss, he is simply still reeling in the confusion of the act.
Upon noticing that he had not been pushed back, Ignis slipped close to the elder, scooting his chair forward. He pulls away just enough for his lips to ghost over Ravus's, curling into a small smirk.
"You know, it is customary for one to kiss back if they find themselves enjoying such affections." Teased the adviser with a playful tone.
One hand settles gently on his good arm, thumb swiping over in a soothing motion.

At hearing the right guess she gave an enthusiastic nod. “Spring! Yes, I am the Goddess of Spring.”
The smaller cooed at the BEAST, ruffling his sides as she nuzzled back. “He’s, or should I say, they, are sweethearts.” Luna offered the other a bright smile that made the flowers literally bloom beside them.
“They’re lucky to have you as their owner.”
Titus inhaled, and exhaled sharply as the life bloomed beside him, one leaf that approached too near starting to wilt before he pulled his presence in sharply, skin tight against himself.
“Is that so? What makes you say that?” he asked, curiously, down at the bright, beautiful young goddess. He was fascinated despite himself, he hadn’t even known she existed. He stayed away from much of the rest of the newly growing divine society.
He was undisputed ruler of his realm, and he governed it well with the other minor and lesser gods of the underworld occasionally filing in as they appeared. Finding their place. They were not often a sociable bunch.
Setting the latte down on the table in order to use both hands, Luna plopped unceremoniously on the sidewalk in order to give the beast her FULL attention, not at all phased by the excessive licking.

She’s eager, if nothing else, scurrying out of the shop, iced latte in hand. The newborn Goddess is comfortable among the humans, having spent a lot of her time among them anyways. Their strides in technology FASCINATING the deity at every turn. She couldn’t get enough of the mortal beings. His energy had alerted her to another immortal’s presence and she had investigated purely on curiousity, however Cerberus’s shroud had distracted her.
With little concentration she could see right past the illusion, but the creatures multiple heads didn’t sway the blonde. Instead she showered him in affection.
“He’s adorable!…God of the Underworld, right?”
Titus watched her, sipping his black coffee quietly and feeling her presence more strongly as she dotes on his dog. He found himself smiling very slightly as he finally put his finger on it.
“You’re something in nature. Weather, or, Spring?” he asked, hazarding a guess at the blond’s own domain. He chuckled slightly as the dog licked at each of her hands, and in the general direction of her cheek.“And yes, I am. I don’t travel much, it’s tiring ever since I took up the throne, officially. But Cerberus here is a growing pup. He needs some of the surface world. He’s not quite of the dead, though he can smell them, and grasp them. And seems quite charmed by you, already.”
At hearing the right guess she gave an enthusiastic nod. "Spring! Yes, I am the Goddess of Spring."

Ignis isn’t one to give way to IMPULSE so easy. Yet there was no other explanation other than the stars aligning and circumstance pushing him to it.
Ravus had been rambling and Ignis had long since stopped listening, coming to the conclusion that the platinum blond must have been talking to himself. He had planned on ASKING the elder to please keep his musings to himself but Ravus’s lips had been so INVITING in that moment that Ignis had acted without thinking.
He was not disappointed.
“It started as a tactic to quiet you down but I am afraid such tactic has backfired…as I wish to do that again.”
An admittance not planned on his part but the Tenenbrae prince’s presence tended to mess with the royal adviser.
Ravus had been speaking to himself, little reminders of this or that and commentaries of whatever, a sign that he felt comfortable enough around another person to allow his guard to drop just a little.
As such, when Ignis confessed that the kiss had been a tactic to silence him, he could not help but to feel quite offended. His lips turned downward into a frown, his brows furrowing with displeasure.
“…Had you wished for my silence, you needed only to ask,” he grumbled. Moments later, his mind caught up to the rest of it. Ignis wished to kiss him again. Confused further, Ravus blinked owlishly at the adviser.
“…You wish…to kiss me again…?”
Crimson spreads across pale cheeks. Something about the Prince made him throw caution to the wind. Such impulsive behaviors borderline REPULSED Ignis yet he found that Ravus seemed to push his sensibilities out the window.

Nyx does everything he can not to squirm under that look, finding it similar to when the lawyer was studying his witness on the stand. His own gaze flickers around the restaurant once or twice before he settles for staring at the box.
“Yeah, strippers have feelings. Who knew?”
It comes out more clipped than he wants it to and immediately clears his throat in silent apology before he’s sighing as well, “Regis, I’m not expecting anything, I never have. I like what we have…”
As he speaks, he reaches for his whiskey –he’s going to need it.
“I know you aren’t expecting anything. I assure you I am doing this of my own will.”
Nervousness seeps into his words and he’s trying to keep his voice STILL. “However, I know I am not getting any younger. I must think of the future.”
Regis pushes the box toward Nyx and opens in. Inside is an ornate pen, the box looking like it cost more than their combined meals.
“I could never replace my Aulea. May she rest in peace. But…there is plenty of room for you in my heart. We have…unconventional ways of navigating this even more unconventional relationship of ours.”
Another deep, this time visible, breath before the elder clears his throat.
“Would you enter a civil partnership with me?”
It is that obvious nervousness that keeps the younger man from trying to cut him off or attempt to speak over him, even as the words are making him want to. The urge to attempt to comfort him does come up yet the nudging of the box, which prompts a decent sip of the drink before the glass is set aside almost too heavily, makes him wait.
The sight of the pen both makes him want to cry and laugh, Nyx having guessed many other things, even if the pen itself was certainly a sight. Instead, he takes a deep inhale through his nose and gives an odd but not necessarily grim smile, obviously trying to formulate what to say.
“Gods, Regis, you’re going to give me a heart attack one day.” His voice is tight as he clamps down the odd nerves that always came up during these talks. The ‘squirreliness’ he had been advised not to do in the very beginning –though, he thinks he’s getting better at it.
Nyx clears his throat and levels his voice out before he speaks again, searching the other man’s face as he does, “you know people will talk more about you, right? Are you thinking I’m going to leave?” The tone is far from accusing, rather just confusion and curiosity –this was a whole new thing for him.
Regis chuckles, the sound itself hits the ears ironically. The opposite of what one would expect to hear and its the way Regis chuckles that gives away that he EXPECTED such a reaction.
"I'm a lawyer. I think in terms of legalities. If something were to happen to me..."
The elder shook his head, refusing to ponder that portion of his mortality.
"There would be immense differences in terms of benefits. By signing, you would get your own debit and credit card. The allowance you receive now would go straight to your family. Should something happen, Noctis would receive 70% of my stock and savings. 30% would be yours. 60% of my life insurance would be yours as well."
