Alex nodded along, fingertips dragging across the skin on the back of Caleb’s neck. “I know how that feels, oddly enough,” he said quietly, “Unfortunately I don’t have any answers for you.”

He just nods, not even thinking about Finn and just needing to be close to someone he trusts.  “He wasn’t..my real father but he was the closest thing I had”.

Alex frowned inwardly and wrapped his arms around his friend, “You’re not alone. It will be alright, even if it doesn’t look like it now.”
He doesn’t cry, he hasn’t really yet, “I meant literally..I didn’t want to go home alone”.

He takes the glass, sipping the water putting down the glass and turning it a few times before taking another drink.  “I’m..sorry I didn’t..tell you I left..it’s been..I mean he..he died”.
A seed of deep worry buried itself in Alexander’s chest as he pulled Caleb in for a gentle hug. “I’m so sorry, Caleb,” he whispered, knowing how much the man meant to him, “You don’t have to apologize.”
He clings to him in a way he never had, fisting his hands in Alex’s shirt.  “I don’t..I don’t know what to do..I don’t know how to...”.  He wasn’t only his only father figure..he was also his therapist.  “I don’t want to be alone”.

He tries to take a deep breath, and walks inside awkwardly. Â His anxiety is through the roof, he can feel it crawling along his skin. Â But his head is stuck on a repeat of what happened, that his dad was gone. Â The man that raised him from twelve on, just gone.
