no like besides mugen from samurai champloo and afro samurai with their obvious western and black influences, toji is like the only Japanese character, written like a nigga in a traditional Japanese mainstream anime.
also girlyyyy you were making points too on your last post about this I saw!
although the one point of contention I do have is that I do think realistically jjk men would be into foreigners, and black girls. I studied abroad in Japan in undergrad and here's my realistic take on the men being attracted to non-japanese.
To level set, many to most Japanese men wouldn't marry a foreigner because they would be first son's expected to carry on their linage of pure Japanese. A second or third son, depending on the family and how traditional and how much abroad experience they have, would be more open to it.
Toji - manwhore freeloader, does not give a fuck. However I don't think he would speak good English though and most Japanese that don't have a western draw have an aversion to interacting with people who can't speak Japanese. while I can see him not giving a fuck on one hand, on the other I can see him kinda being a thing were he is embarrassed about cause he thinking he's saying something slick and looks dumb lol. But I could also see him using it to his advantage to "teach me English" so it just depends lol.
Sukuna - while I do acknowledge his heian era traditional background, I think his character broke those traditions and norms. we (unfortunately) don't know much about Sukuna's origins but we do know he wasn't born into power or wealth (or if so was likely a black sheep toji situation) and had to fight for everything to be the strongest and to stand alone. If he was a traditionalist it's likely he wouldn't have been the monster he was in the manga as the Japanese are very big on "accepting your place in society" (which is why jobhopping for a promotion is unheard of there, you work your way up where you are or you don't advance). Comically in the mahoraga fight we also saw him crash into the movie theatre and come out eating popcorn and soda which he promptly decided was trash lol. I think he is a traditionalist in terms of wanting to be at the top of a power dynamic and he gives off a very regal and educated air despite being fully about the shits, but that's about as far as that goes. I think he would defy traditions and rules because it's apart of his character. (I also think he would appreciate a thicker woman with a bit more fight in her regardless of race, notice how he actually tolerated Yorozu in the heian era who was HIGHLY unconventional).
Gojo - Gojo defied the rules of Jujutsu society and within the system. So while he has respect for traditions enough not to completely brake them down he also doesn't give a fuck. I could fully see him marrying a Japanese girl and having a kid with her to make his family happy and having a mistress on the side (who unfortunately he never gets serious about who may or may not be foreign). Unfortunately I think Gojo's interest may dip into fetishization on some level and dating him as a black girl would be exhausting as you'd have to train him. Depending on the universe though and if we are talking realistic canon world or realistic rich boy Gojo-AU world. I could see him sticking with dating jpop stars or models as that's what would give him the most clout lol.
Geto - canon Geto I could also see him doing something similar to Gojo. While he doesn't give af about traditions more openly as he did defect from Jujutsu society, I do think he would still consider marriage to be a business transaction. Could he get a huge dowery and secure power and resources if he as a cult leader married a traditional Japanese girl from a wealthy family? Otherwise I actually most out of anyone see Geto being interested in foreigners, black girls specifically and out of appreciation rather than fetishization. The rasta scene is HUGE in Japan and I have said it before but I definitely feel like Geto would be a rasta enthusiast. His whole look and style and laid back attitude fits the profile for the Japanese guys I saw in the rasta scene. Beyond his cult leader shit though I don't see him having any huge commitments to tradition.
Nanami - he is hafu (half) anyway lol. However, this can always go in 2 different ways. Them embracing the foreign side and not relating to the Japanese culture as much. Or, them feeling like they always need to compensate for their non Japanese side. I have many half-asian friends who feel like their asian side judges them and they need to compensate so they might only show interest, date or marry their race specifically. However, (and I did have an idea for a fanfic about this), Nanami reminds me of those workaholic lonely business men who either have families that stress them out and was more of an arranged marriage or are single but work too much and maybe family isn't good enough to get a good match who do the "foreign English teacher service". which is basically a front so they can be seen out at a dinner, cafe, park, etc with a pretty foreign girl. it isn't an escort service although when I was there I had friends who were politely proposition for trips, etc. I could 100% see Nanami falling into one of those buckets and using this service.
Choso - I feel like he'd lack the confidence to approach a normal Japanese girl let alone a foreigner and he would be SUPER nervous to speak English or any other language and offend you. His aversion to foreign women would be more his own insecurities and thoughts you aren't into him (which a lot of Japanese guys would think) rather than his aversion to you.
omg I wrote a lot but character analysis relating to irl experience is so fun for me. <3 look at me turning op's ignorant ass post into something productive.
