1. As soon as I stepped foot into the room, I immediately noticed the clean and minimalistic aura. It definitely is a new building, with high ceilings. The walls were painted white possibly because if it were any other color, it would take away the focus of the people from the artworks. The room itself was not as big but it appeared spacious because the room was well maximized. At the beginning, I felt a bit claustrophobic because there were too many people inside the room at that time, also making it difficult to notice all the art. The use of lighting was effective because even if it was not much, it was able to let the audience see the artwork clearly and have our eyes relaxed at the same time. The layout of the exhibit was well organized. Paintings of the same size were grouped together, and the more abstract work of art were on the other side. Some artworks were displayed at eye-level and is also probably why they took my attention so fast. However, it took me a while to notice some artwork because they were displayed on the floor. 2. There were 41 artworks in the exhibit. I have noticed that the subject of all the work was women. 3. Magsaysay-Ho, Joanne De Leon, Jade Navarro, Bengco, Rosario Peralta, and Nena Saguil are some of the artists behind these paintings. Ranging from an abstract work, made out of a variety of lines and shapes, to a more subjective perspective, with humans as the subject, these works are truly worth admiring. 4. My favorite artwork would have to be "Guardian of the Islands" by Jade Navarro Bengco. Aside from the fact that the gown resembles the Philippine flag, it is obvious that the artist plays close attention to detail. I love how there is a variety of patterns seen in this work, and how well they go along with one another. 5. "Guardian of the Islands" is a very well-detailed work. The color scheme of this painting plays around the three primary colors seen in the national flag which are red, blue, and yellow. 6. I suggest that the gallery display a more diverse set of paintings. I also would appreciate it if the room were bigger so that the audience feel calm whenever. I hope to see more sculptures next time because I felt like there were not much of them present in the gallery. 7. I felt glad about my visit. It is exciting to see how there are so much talent encompassed in a person to be able to produce such outputs. It also inspired me to challenge my skills and my ideas when it is my turn to paint. Overall, I am very thankful that I had the chance to visit and witness beauty and talent in front of my eyes. I believe that there is truly a lot of paintings that deserve to be acknowledged and appreciated.
