I feel like a used up carton of almond milk. People keep opening the fridge, shaking me, only to discover my nothingness. Some may try to squeeze out the last little drop into their coffee because at least it's better than nothing. Afterwards instead of tossing me in the bin where I belong, I get sat back on the shelf. Waiting for the next person to discover that beneath my packaging, I am in fact empty.

But you don't ask what it is I actually want. You won't know that I'd be perfectly content with something cozy and comfortable, so long as there's still intimacy. I need someone to scoop me up on my bad days, snuggle me, and envelope me with warmth. Fluffy blankets and tea will do.
