I Don’t Like My Mind Right Now/Open
Tick, tick, tick, tick
It sounded like the clock but it was inside his head- he couldn’t really hear the ticking over the noise of the bar he was sitting in. It was owned by the O’Brien family. It was the one neutral bar in London and the young Crouch despite his alliance to the Dark Lord needed a place to think without his mates or his enemies staring him down.
After the day he had, Regulus needed a drink. He sat in the Death Chamber for hours, listening to the voices, trying to figure out what was going on. No one else seemed to be able to hear them… to converse with them.
Maybe he was finally going crazy. Maybe everything was finally getting to him: the workload, the lack of sleep, the lack of friends, the loneliness. It all lead to him feeling like he was beginning to lose a bit of his grip on reality.
He honestly didn’t see Barty when he sat down. He hadn’t spoken to the boy he once called his best friend since they graduated. Even before that they were not on the greatest of terms and Regulus never fully understood why. He ordered a house special drink and exhaled slowly. He wanted to sleep well that night, and unfortunately, that meant alcohol.
Sleep didn’t come easy for the junior Crouch either, he ordered a simple fire whiskey something to take the edge off. He looked over to his left and sucked in a small breath, how did one start a conversation with a once upon a time a decent friend. Close? Not entirely but close enough to confide in someone. He coughed slightly and took a drink from the glass and looked forward, “Hello Regulus.” He stated in a soft but calm tone. Feeling incredibly weird and a little awkward having this conversation to even begin withl
