This will be the last you'll see of me for a year. Well...on social media that is. Saying so long to social media and hello to how things used to be. Face to face interactions, sending letters, actually picking up the phone and actually talking. Granted I'm still a fan of texts and emails they're just practical. I'm just trying to disconnect digitally to reconnect personally. I am going to use this free time to do some soul searching and growing spiritually.To fine tune and focus on ways I can give God more glory. To read more than a few books a year. To pick up my guitar more than twice a month. To paint more than twice a year. Lastly I'm using this time to grow my beard back. :) I'm sure most could care less of my absences. This is just for the people that want to keep in contact or maybe reconnect on a different level. Please, if you had planned to give me a gift visit this website instead. A near and very dear friend/mentor of mine has passed. Chuck Webb was like the grandpa I always dreamed about. A true man of God that always had a smile for me. This guy LOVES Jesus. A love and passion for His word like I've never seen before. Beyond blessed and honored to have him and his angel of a wife, Elly, walk me through the bible these past few years. I pray to have a love like theirs. Chuck truly loved his wife the way Jesus loves the Church. I pray to experience a love like that. It's really hard for me to explain the impact this man has had on my life. Instead I learned one of his favorite songs in remembrance of him, "Old Rugged Cross". My heart hurts that you're gone but I can't help but smile knowing you're face to face with Jesus. "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." -Isaiah 40:31

Round one of #22minutehardcorps in the bag. Last time I sweated this hard was roofing in 100 degree weather. Says Core 1 is optional but tackling that after a church function. Art Therapy

During my 33rd year of life I decided to free and focus my time. So a few weeks ago I logged out of Facebook. On August 29th (my actual birthday) I'll be stepping away from Instagram as well for a year. I love the fellowship and community involvement. I just feel it's also an unnecessary distraction. Time that I could spend reading, writing, or creating something I am just scrolling away. Time is a precious gift that I plan to invest wisely this year. To truly focus on things that will improve myself mentally, physically and spiritually. Had fellowship with several different "churches" today. I say it like that because the "church" isn't a building, it's the body of Christ. Every third Sunday there is a breakfast for men with a speaker. Todays speaker drove that truth home. Regardless of our denomination there is ONE church(body of Christ) and ONE Jesus. It's not our mission to out do the next guy. Or argue who has the right theology and who doesn't. If you're more focused in the Law you're missing the point. Jesus,is the main point. Loving and serving one another in His name. It's our mission to love one another in the name of Jesus. It's easy to get caught up in calamity. Life is real good like that. You get a plan in your head and then !BOOM! Things turn into a completely chaotic catastrophe. That's when you gotta take a step back...then let go and let God. More often than not your original plan was not His to begin with. What He has in mind is and will always be better than anything you cooked up. So during those times of trouble let yourself down....on your knees to pray. Give your struggles to the one true Savior and throw some praise in there while you're at it. Give God the glory in the good times and the bad times. Just a reminder to myself. No turning back now. Just signed up for a Y membership. Stepping up my fitness both physically and spiritually for my 33rd lap around the sun.

The storm will come. The hurt will happen. I promise you that. There is a greater gift though. The hope and healing that comes with the love of Jesus. The promise and protection that comes with His own set of promises. That He will never leave or forsaken you. That He will be there in the storms and hurt that comes with life. The storm will come but He is stronger than any storm. I promise you that.
