As with last year, CAMP will be a contemporary community offering a space to make and think together.
This year, CAMP is everything you are looking for.
The content generated in this year’s workshops will be used as material for a public performance on the last day of CAMP. Although the majority of CAMP will remain focused on experimentation and process rather than product, the final performance will function as an organizational tool, bringing structure and focus to the workshops by encouraging us to work collaboratively towards a tangible goal. It will also give us an opportunity to share the fruits of CAMP with a larger community.
We will be accepting workshop proposals from 6/15 to 6/24. We will take one week to review proposals. We will then either accept, reject, or request additional information about the proposals submitted.
The final selection will be announced on Monday July 1st.
We are soliciting workshop proposals from individuals or teams in four categories:

Workshops can be structured as movement/dance, making (sculpture, installation, set design, interactive art, costumes/wearable art), drawing, writing, facilitated discussion, improvisation, exploration of physical space(s), or any combination of modalities. We wish to encourage practices related to performing arts (dance, theater, music) and visual arts, but we also are sincerely committed to being a space where the radical, the interdisciplinary, the unusual or the novel can occur.
A Death workshop could be the creation of objects for a funeral and performing that funeral. Or, it could be a discussion about the death of privacy (i.e. very topical in case you were living under a rock) and creating a collective or personal response that lasts beyond CAMP (see: Miranda July’s latest and Stewart Brand’s de-extinction project.
A Translation workshop could use the letters of a poem as data for creating a map that the group then uses to traverse the woods.
Play could be a materials lab where sculptures are created with expanding foam, baking soda and liquid nitrogen OR a voguing/whacking-inspired dance-off.
Fiction could be reading Society of the Spectacle as fodder for a critique of Facebook followed by a discussion of strategies for transgression OR the creation of a children’s book for adults on the fictions of childhood that would be better left uncorrected.
There are no limits on how the categories are employed, nor on the practices or combination of practices used in the workshops.
We want CAMP to be a place for asking questions within a group of Good, Giving, and Game (GGG) folks.
